Before this becomes a bash AJ thread, let me say that this is NOT what this is about. It just seems that AJ gets hurt easily, ala Chad Pennington. Some guys are just cursed that way for some reason. Feeley was only in the game for the first Quarter and he was hurt. He got hurt a lot last year, mostly minor things that he could play through, but with his history, it seems it's only a matter of time before he could sustain an injury that could sideline him, should he be named the starter. Alot of people will blame our O-Line for allowing him to get hit and that is undertsndable. But David Carr was sacked an NFL record number of times and he played the entire season. (Carr is just one example) My point is, if AJ IS named the starter, how long will he last - even if our line improves and he is hit/sacked less. It really does seem that he gets hurt alot. Thoughts?

How many games did he miss due to injury? 1? Other than that, he got his finger bent like a twig, missed a snap, snapped it back into place and proceeded to throw a TD..

He isnt injury prone.. He just bruises his *** alot..

And again, on monday he wasnt injured.. He couldnt get his shoe back on, his time was almost up anyway, so Saban called it a night.. As verified by both Saban and Feeley.

Hmmm..Im not disagreeing with you. But..I dont really know how anyone can say..he gets hurt often..when really he gets hit so much that is suprising he can still walk. Lets say last year...we had a good oline...and he was hit close to the average number of times a QB gets hit. If he missed more than two games because of it..I would say he was prone to injury.

Thats not the case as we all know..because he was hit far more often than that..some of those tremendous hits most would not have gotten up from. Also...none of his injuries were that serious right?

So look at his injuries from the whole perspective..and I would say AJ is one tough son of a biatch.

He does bruise his *** alot. That's for certain. And he bruised it Monday. It just seems like he gets alot of these nagging injuries. And that's sort of the point. Will those smaller, nagging injuries start becoming the more serious ones. I dunno. It's just something I was thinking about.

Well, I'm just posing a question. If someone wants to "bash my brains out" I don't care. It wouldn't be the first time. I guess everyone on this board has been bashed once or twice. :D

The reason Feeley came out was because he couldnt get his shoe back on. His @$$ was a little sore but he DEFINATLY would have played through it, but that was gunna be Feeleys last drive anyway so they just pulled him then... Not a big deal... He played through alot of pain last year and he will this year too (assuming he gets to play)

Nasty

well when you consider the pounding he took in miami last year its kinda hard to stay healthy... anytime a QB takes that many hits **** will happen... luckily he only missed one game cause of injury...

also it looked like hes beefed up some and is bigger, might help him avoid some of those knicks and bumps

About the question, first of all i think we would all like whoever plays QB to be successful. I don't know if it is the performance of the OL or lack there of it, or AJ's decision making, but he does seem easily dinged

blame the OL for his injuries. that OL still sucks and was horrendous last year.

it was like our mexican border, letting anyone cross it without hindering them

I've always been one to question his durability, but you make great points.

He gets no more nagging injuries then Jason Taylor does. Almost every game u see Taylor go down holding his wrist or just laying on the ground in the fetal position looking like he is posing for the July Month in a Palygirl magazine.

The fact is that they just take a snap or 2 off and they are back in the game. No biggie.

U are playing a sport where it's not pysically natural or sound for the bones to get snapped and hit the way they do.

I am surprised some of these guys don't get dinged up more often.

Besides the Phins have alot of fragile players. Every week almost all of them are listed as questionable or probable lol:lol:

I'm going to agree with you to a point...

...While it's a miracle he lived through last season without missing bunch of games, every week Feeley had more dint and dings than what would be considered normal (even for a guy who got sacked that many times).

He certainly showed the fans and coaching staff he tuff by playing through some of the stuff he endured, I'm not quetioning that at all. And the hit he took from Urhlacker was nasty, I'm suprised he could walk off the field after that straight full speed hit. While his toughness cannot be quetioned, I think his pocket awareness can! If he had more pocket awareness he'd be able to lessen some of the hits he takes. I'm not saying he's got to be able to run like a Vick or Carr (who's an amazing rusher for a QB, just look at his stats) but having footwork like our man Dan used to have lessens the hits.

That may come with experience but he should already have some of that by now...and he doesn't..at all.

So, yes, I do think he's a bit fragile or maybe the better term for it is ding prone. It is something though that not only better line play can help but also his own pocket awareness would help prevent a lot of things he ends up with.
