Is anyone else pissed about that 3rd and long call where we only rushed 3

Great win last night but this is bugging me...

It doesn't make sense when I see teams putting pressure on the QB than on 3rd down they get conservative. It's the same as playing prevent defense on Manning with 2 minutes left. On that one play where Sanchez threw the ball to Braylon at the one, we only had a 3 man rush. Sanchez would have all day to throw. NO CB can cover any wr for that long. Do teams call that just to play it "safe" or what. Please help me understand.

While I'm very happy with the win last night, I am also getting very concerned about our defense. We gave up a LOT of points again last night rather quickly. While our secondary at times looked shaky at best, you have to remember that Sanchez had all day to throw the ball because we had very little pressure on him. We were only sending 3-4 guys after the QB nearly all night again. D coord needs to start dialing up some different packaged blitz schemes. A little better on tackling would be nice too. First guy missed the tackle more than made it.
We also have no special teams at this point. Def punt return (burned twice on a fake), no kick off or punt return threat at all. Not trying to be a downer after a win, but those are things that have accounted for the 3 losses and will hurt us moving forward if not addressed.

Thats what I was wondering all night, why cant we blitz? It seems to work more often then not! If you give the QB all day to throw, eventually he'll find someone or just run the ball himself for a first down or more.

This game could have easily been 31/17 if we wouldnt have given up the big plays, but all in all I'm happy we won!:thanks:
