I seen where someones mock draft had us taking PJ DAniels and those sorry Ravens picked him in the 4th. Do you guys think KJ will fill the role of having a true back-up? Minor is more of a 3rd down back and Morris is a back-up fb at this stage in his carreer. If not do you guys know of anyone who could fill the role that is available?

I am, but we've only got three 7th rounders left. What can you do? Maybe we can find someone good. i dunno..

Pre-draft talk sort of indicated other plans...

The invitation of Reyes to mini camp and the talking up of Harris. I would be surprised if we reached for anyone, but how do you reach in the 7th LOL.

I was looking at the players available and nobody stood out but Gerald Riggs jr. from Tenessee and Chris Barclay at Wake. Barclay is only 188 but runs as hard and fast as anyone but his size sucks. I seen Riggs show flashes but I don't know about his potential. Tank Mclendon from N.C. State is a total package but has been injury prone.

True but Reyes never seemed that good to me. KJ had a great college career but also seemed injury prone.

Well we did use a pick on RB but it was last year. THE #2 OVERALL! Remember? We have Ronnie Brown who is going to be a great runner and we have a solid backup in Sammy Morris. It would be a waste to pick a RB.

Not really. I would like a another guy to come in a compete. Maybe an Andre Hall, Gerlad Riggs.

The point was to discuss the back-up position and I know we picked RB with the #2 pick last year but why didn't he play the last 2 games last year and how many college seasons did he carry the load? Do you really want Sammy trying to be our feature back again?

Who is Hall? Did he seem like he could fill the starter role if need be?

nick said that KJ is ready to compete for the back up so....i'm good with that

You can't plan on injuries. For crying out loud how many threads are we going to see like this? Should we hire a backup head coach in case Saban gets sick? I mean injuries happen and you can't plan on them. We still have other holes to fill that are much more important than #2 RB.

I missed that. I really like KJ with his combo of size and speed but he has no game experiance what so ever. I don't guess that matters because nobody we could pick up would either.

I feel fine with Sammy and KJ. With that being said, if Andre Hall out of USF is open in the 7th we HAVE to take him.

What an ignorant statement. You have to have depth at running back and most teams go 3 deep with talented backs that are capable starters.
