Is Az Hakim this years David Boston

I don't think that Hakim will be this year's David Boston. David Boston is a steroid abuser who weights about 60 pounds too much for his body and isn't an NFL calibur WR. We tried to make him our #2 guy opposite Chambers and it was disastrous.

Hakim, while not the best WR out there is servicable. He doesn't exactly have amazing speed but he has quickness. He can make people miss. He's never been more than a #4 or 5 WR and I don't think Miami is going to try to make him more than that. I think that Hakim is brought in to be our Kick Return specialist. We've been using Welker and Minor there for a while and neither of them were very good at it. They're also both gone now.

So if you're not expecting too much from Hakim, which you shouldn't be, you prolly wont be disappointed.

I think he is solid pick up to back up 'project' receivers. A proven commodity.

Yeah, I think that Hakim has been brought in as training camp fodder. He will compete with Vick and PK Sam for the #5 WR if anything.

I don't see Hakim as our KR/PR. That will be up for grabs with Campbell, Vick, and a speedy rookie we draft battling it out for the #4 WR spot.

But I don't see Hakim as a homerun threat at KR like a Tedd Ginn Jr, Johnnie Higgins, or Jason Hill would be.

Even Vick and Campbell are better homerun threats at KR than Hakim. Hakim is camp fodder, trust me.

He's this year's Cliff Russell. Protocall.

Between Hakim and Campbell one of them should be able to stay healthy.
Hopefully Campbell, he is very good when he actually plays.

No, because we wont be counting on him nearly as much as we were David Boston.

nope. At the very most, he'll be our 3rd WR. He's a decent number 3,but nothing more (see his work when he left to be the number 1 guy in Detroit). Boston was brought in o be our number 2, and a lot of people were expecting him to change our offense, even in Saban's first year (the year he was our 3rd guy at the start of the season)

Hakim was good, haven't heard much about him since the Rams

Where do some of you come up with this stuff?

They're not even the same kind of reciever, nor are they fighting through the same adversity.

Gotta run, gotta go read the "Let's sign David Patten" thread. :sidelol:

Hakim is nothing like Boston... in any way. He's better than Cliff Russell (at worst he might be a "has been", Cliff is a "never was". He was signed to replace Welker, we'll see. For those not aware, Hakim was on the Chargers roster at the end of the season so Cam must have a feel for his abilites.

Its a 1 year deal I don't know why people would be against this

I meant because they both have had success in the past, I hope Hakim is not a waste of time like Boston was.
