i live by syracuse and around here carmelo is a big time sports icon everyone loves him to death and i keep hearin around from the radio and such that people are saying he's not really that good, i think he's as good as he was expected to be, he dosn't got much help around him is the reason for lower stats, anyways i was wounderin what ppl who dont live by where he played thought

He isnt underated nor overated. He isnt consistent.I forget what week but it was a couple of weeks before all-star weekend Carmelo was on a hot streak.on FRI he hit the game winning shot on my T-wolves ( :( ).There was alot of expectation on him because they compare him to Lebron and Carmelo can't measure up to Lebron.

yea he cant measure up wit lebron.
i don't know about that he has been super clutch at the end of games while lebron is looking like the anit clutch

personally i feel he is a lil overrated by some, he is a nice clutch player, but hes still a lil overrated. hes a damn good player though.

very good player not elite though but very good...seems like hes as good as hes gonna get to me though

Guys...some of you need to watch a little more basketball. Carmelo is a total stud.

And you can go to him in crunchtime with a smile on your face.

Hes a great player....in his third year and already is the star and goto scorer on his team. I dont think hes overrated, its just he got unlucky and was drafted along with Lebron and Wade. Hes also unlucky in that they fail to differentiate between foward spots so he cant get on a western all star squad stocked full of dominant PFs.

I totally agree. He was clutch in College and he is clutch in the NBA! The guy can flat out score. He won't ever win defensive player of the year or a rebounding title, but so what. The guy can play. He is in a tougher conference than Lebron or Wade and has his team in 1st place in their division. While Lebron and Wade are better indiviual players, Carmelo and his teams find ways to win and have so on every level. The fact he is doing it now in his 3rd year in a tougher conference says a lot about him.
