I saw this on ESPN.com under "player news"...it looks like theyre planning for when Lienert sucks it up.

Matt Lienert - The Cardinals might sign a veteran backup quarterback in case Leinart falters or is injured, the East Valley Tribune reports.

and it said this...

"__________, who will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, might sign with Arizona, the East Valley Tribune reports."

for these guys:

Chad Pennington
David Carr
Kyle Boller
Kellen Clemens
Jon Kitna

dont really know if chad has the arm to play in that offense, he could sure teach matt a thing or two but i'm pretty sure he's already learned alot from warner. All of that being said if chad is healthy he's probably the best one on the list you had.

Well, if he does, good for him. He'll have a lot of receivers to throw to there and you have to imagine he'd really thrive there if he had the season he had with this corp.

I think the Vikings could go after him if Brett Favre retires.

Dam Pennington as a Cardinal could be lethal

I don't see them signing Chad Pennington. Mostly because of the receivers they have. I don't see Chad's arm being enough to match what the receivers can do. They need a big arm and Warner gave that to them.
Maybe more like Kitna or Boller

Philly might trade McNabb so look him to possibably get traded to AZ or Minn they will trade one of those QB

I agree with Phins28. However I think Brett Favre will retire, then unretire again. Arizona does need someone since Leinart just isn't that good.

If by lethal you mean 10 - 20 yard passes and "managing the game".

Never been a big fan of Pennington as a far as performance....he's a good guy and all but we were very limited in the passing game and his noodle arm was one of the weakest links.

Ummm I am pretty sure he is still under contract with us. So maybe we could make him part of a package for Boldin.

well.... those WR's are known for their YAC, especially Boldin. :ohno:

It doesn't hurt to throw deep to Fitz, Boldin, & Breaston however they are all big and physical enough to adapt to Pennington's style.
