If the Phins are to count on him as a positive for next year they need to see him play again this year. They need to see what he's capable of and to see if he can work out the cobwebs in game situations. Going into next year with the QB position in question for yet another year is a very bad idea.

Yea I agree, I am on the Pep bandwagon because it took alot to bring him here, and if you are a Dolphin fan . . . there is no way u should be rooting against this guy . . . because if he doesn't work out . . . it could set us back atleast 2 or 3 years.

However, we have to see him play again this year . . . we just can't be satisfied with Pep's performance this year and think he will be ready at the beginning of next year. That kind of mistake would be critical and could seriously end the Nick Saban era here in South Florida after next season. I think he will be out definetly this week . . . but I think he may come back when we play at home vs. KC . . . of course if he is ready . . . I want to see him play, but if he is hurt . . . swelling and stuff . . . u can't force him out there, but I definetly would like to see Daunte out there again sometime this year (I think Nick is gonna make sure we are out of playoff contention tho, so he can try different things with him). The OLine should be improved and everybody should be on the same page. If he comes out and get sacked 6 times and just looks uncomfortable . . . u might have to go QB in the first round next year . . . but I do want to see Cleo Lemon also.

All of this is very well put.

Only thing I don't agree with is Cleo.
We don't have time to waste forcing a project into the fold JMO.

The starting job is between Culpepper and Harrington going into next year.

Harrington is getting his shot with these starts. The team will have a good idea in what they are getting from him and what he may offer in the future.

We have to know the same from Culpepper. All starts need to go to these 2 guys. Like you said, you can't force Culpepper back if that knee keeps acting up but if it's all possible we need to see him play this year. As you said, if one of these guys don't step up, especially Culpepper we could be set back yet another 2-3 years.

Pep Stinks, Next year he would be bagging grocerys if he didnt have all that money of his.

I disagree with Lemon . . . u can't have a young third string QB just be there if u have no intentions for him. He has gotta be somebody u look at also. We spent a 6th rounder on him, and alot of people are high on him . . . I could see us giving him a start late in the season . . . especially if Daunte isn't able to play no more this season and Joey is still unable to get this team some wins. Because if we do go QB in the draft . . . I think we keep both Joey and Pep still, and then would cut loose Lemon . . . but why? if he has this upside? Trust me, I would like to see Lemon play a game or 2 if the scenario stated unfolds.

Vick is a project . . . and I do agree that would be a waste, but not Cleo . . . he is a capable QB and I would like to see him in some real NFL action . . . we used to see Sage out there late sometimes, and he has developed quite nicely into a top backup QB who u could feel comfortable letting start. Lets see what we got.

Bagging groceries...

I've seen this guy post before.
For some reason he just hates Culpepper.
Made a lot of ridiculous remarks like this.

You're right about the degree. He'd be a sought after hire in whatever his field is based on his name alone.

Not to mention that he already has enough money from his original contract to live off of if he invested wisely.

Ideally I think we get him in the last few games and PRAY he can play well and give this team some momentum and confidence that he can lead us to success.

I disagree with the notion that we need to see Pep prove something this year. The smart thing to do would be to just shut him down for the rest of the year, and give him the time that's really needed to heal an ACL injury. Daunte was rushed back and it was very evident that one needs 2 years to recover from such an injury. Pep is our QB of the future and Saban will attack it like that. Culpepper is likely done for the year, but next year, LOOK OUT!

LMAO at bagging groceries! :sidelol:

Seriously though Carson Palmer recovered from basically the same injury and has been playing all year. I really dont think the injury is the problem with Culpepper and we absolutely need to see him play some more this year so we can figure out wether to cut him or not. That is unless Saban's already made that decision and that's why he's not playing. If we go into next season blind with Culpepper at the helm I will have lost all faith in Nick Saban as our coach.

We need to start the offensive line show or none of this other stuff will matter.

Well I have a few bones to pick with your statement.

First off, it isn't even close to the same injury. Daunte Culpepper shreaded 3 ligaments and had tripple ligament surgery to basically repair his entire knee. Palmer only had his ACL repaird.

Secondly, Palmer and Culpepper are two completely differnt quarterbacks. Daunte makes his living on the run and moving the pocket. Palmer sits back in protection and finds his recievers down the field. Daunte has always bought his WRs extra time and uses his big arm while on the move to stretch defenses. Pass protection for Daunte was extremelly poor for him in Miami and with his slip up in mobility, he wasn't able to create that time and unload his cannon down the field. He never had any time to make those big plays we were so accustomed to in Minnesota.

I do agree with you that we don't need to see Daunte can do. Just shut him down for the year, and open 2007 with Daunte at 100% and see his brilliance return!
