Is Daniel Thomas improving as a running back?

He's definitely looked better this year to me. Regardless of why, he's doing positive things when he touches the ball and runs hard on his carries. I think that fumble killed alot of good will that folks here were starting to give him.

That was his first fumble in over a year. He was well over a 100 touches without a fumble before that one this year.
And we got the ball back and scored anyway so it meant nothing.

He touched the ball 458 times since becoming a Dolphin and has 6 fumbles with only 4 lost. Not one has cost us a game.
One of the fumbles in his 1st year he was knocked out from the hit. What the hell are you supposed to do?

just off of his performance against pittsburgh last year with an injured ankle, he can stay and back up our starter for his entire career. we don't win that game without him, and soft players don't play with that injury.

He plays now like he's the powerback. There's more forward-lean and less attempt at Razzle-dazzle. He's abandoned 'fancy' cuz of the context of the plays he's in there for

I was hoping he'd improve but his costly fumble vs the Lions sealed it for me. Done with him.

Costly how. The D stopped the Lions and we got the ball back 13 yards from where he fumbled a few plays latter. we scored on the next couple of possessions.
The fumble did nothing.

With Ricky and Ronnie leaving we were in need of a power back in 2011. Here are the backs that were taken in the draft

Ten years from now, he'll give us 5.0 per carry.

Also, his concussions are down this year so there's that.

Is Daniel Thomas improving as a running back?

NO

Please stop, get a clue man. If Knoshown did not get hurt, he would be off this team. He was beat out by two undrafted rookies. He was cut, and picked up by no one, but us. All the other NFL Teams had a clue enough to pass on this vagina of a running back who would rather play safety. If you want to know who is improving why don't you focus on Damien Williams, and hang your Danielle Thomas love on the fact he will be driving a truck for UPS next season dude.

You mean a clue like watching the games, where he has played better, or just blindly listening to all the forum hate based on past (admittedly poor) play? He's played better - it is possible to acknowledge such things without professing undying love for a player.

It ain't all about the rushing. His blocking awareness still sucks. He failed to pick up a blitzer (had 2 to chose from) resulting in a sack against the Jets.

He's averaging 3 rushes a game and 1 reception
Are you seeing something I'm not?
He's a marginal backup at best...

DT has played better. I take out the SD game where he ran 9 times for 8 yards in as basically a tackling dummy to run out the clock in a huge blowout. Other than that, he ran 32 times for a 4.8 average. He caught 10 of 11 for a 10 yard average, and has given up 1 QB hit this year. He will very likely be replaced next year but, that takes nothing away from his playing well in limited action.

I really do not understand why some posters have to make stuff up to dislike a Phins player who is doing what he can for "our team" to win.
