Earlier last week Gase said that the team's philosophy is to pass to set up the run... But my question is..... if you can't pass then how can you setup the run?

This is a passing league, and our oline was built to be good in pass protection which they have been for the most part. If we're going to rely on the passing game to setup the run... we sure as hell better have a QB and WR and TE's that can win their matchups consistently and right now I DON'T SEE THAT

From what I've seen, neither Gase nor VJ follow their philosophies. 2 games in and Miami didn't use the pass early to set up the run game.

Wow after 2 games this is the kind of thread we're starting?

He may have underestimated our talent or lack thereof and no depth.

You are being too simplistic when you state that we pass to setup the run. There is no doubt that the best thing about our offense is our passing game. Our line does a good job of pass protection. I am hopeful that we can improve the running game. Tunsil has definitely improved his run blocking.

The problem is that he overestimated the abilities of our receivers and TEs, and he needs to find a way to get the receivers and TEs to perform better during the first two drives.

How does a guy that's coached Peyton Manning, Emanuel Sanders, Demarius Thomas, Julious Thomas, Wes Welker etc... underestimate the talent level of our players? He's seen what good players look like and should know what he has or doesn't have.

Something I have noticed over the years, and I don't know if it is Tanne....but when we get the ball first, we tend to do much better. We come out and set the tone and normally score. When you have to sit there for a 6 minute drive, it takes the air out of your tires. I have actually mentioned this before, but I wish we would take the ball first every chance we got. As far as your question, I don't think it is flawed but Tanne is a great medium yardage passer....I think we should take advantage of that instead of dinking so much!

And once again after a HC has coached two games or after a player has played two games this board can pretty much tell that they're going to the hall of fame or that they're nothing but garbage. The geniuses on this baord.

Ozzy rules!!

Instead of putting yourself in a box with a so a called identity, why not take the chameleon philosophy and adapt to whatever philoslphy you needed to exploit the weeknesses of the team you're playing?

It's WAY too early to make widespread assessments or assumptions on any part of the team. Even the defense IMHO, which looked good against Seattle, and came out with a horrid gameplan this past weekend. I'm willing to give the coaches a chance to adjust and grow before i give up on them or the season. Yeah, the Pats coaches handed them their butts on a platter. But Belicheck does that to a lot of other coaches. Let's let the season play out a bit.

Not me, Gase said that.

I simply asked a question based off of what the HC said and what I've seen so far this season. I know crap when I see it and it doesn't take 6-8 or 10 games for me to recognize it. Our play offensively for the past two weeks has been crap. Our play defensively for the past 2 weeks has been crap. I've seen crap for the past 10 years here so I know exactly what it looks like.

You can take half the season or the entire season to recognize and voice your opinion on what you're seeing but what fun is that? I'd much rather discuss what I'm seeing along the way. Game by Game, play by play.
