I want to start off by saying i repect ronnie brown and i want to root for ronnie brown.
i've been watching him closely for a year now, i hate saying this and hope i'am wrong.
I don't see a natural instinctive running back,i see a freak physical specimen who is strong and fast but when getting a handoff the brain messages are not getting to the legs quick enough for the athletic ability to take over.

what i do see however is someone that looks real smooth blocking and catching the football in the open field, but is that worth the #2 pick in the draft.

I want to point out that this is not my evaluation from last night's game only,i've been on record before stating it.

I want nothing more than to be wrong, please enlighten me if you can.

I see an offensive line that can barely hold off a quality DL from penetrating into the backfield before the handoff - let alone actually getting a push.

No one was running up the middle on that Carolina line last night....

Ronnie will be just fine.

ronni efought for every inch he got last nite, he dragged defenders for extra yards, how you going to criticize him when every sinlge running play he was hit or had to avoid a hit 2 yards deep in the backfield

Yup. Just like last year. He would be just flat out scarey with a good O-line in front of him.

We don't play Carolinas D till the SB. Ronnie still ran hard and showed one heck of an effort IMO. Carolina has the best D-line in football hands down and their isn't many people that will average over 2.8 yards a carry and that would have to be on a off day like Ronnie did last year in the regular season. besides that we have a Qb now and I won't mind if he throws the ball 43 times a game like that loser Linehan did with Gus for the first part of last year.

I can see what you mean....but I thought he ran well with all consideration to panther D-line & Kris Jenkins who was phenomenal. Watching Ronnie Brown made me remember of the power in his legs... I can certainly see him breaking tackles and making big 4th quarter runs in the hot sunny home games this year. But he didn't look quite as quick as D'Angelo Williams did last night, certainly a great pick up for the panthers.

Carolina has a hell of a D line, its hard to run though that especially when your O line struggles. Ronnie will be fine.

I think that's a fair criticism. What Brown is: super size, super fast, super receiver, great blocker, incredibly hard runner- he's dragging guys and knocking them around like a 21st century Czonka. What he's not: super shifty, super elusive- he will never be the natural runner that Carnell Williams and Deangelo Williams are. But Brown is the entire pakage, and hopefully can overcome a questionable offensive line and have a great year.

I will enlighten you... he was going against the best D-line in the league last night...
