I looked up a good deal of draft websites, and looked for Kenny Philips. In almost every one of them he is falling from top 10 to top 20.I want a safety like that anyday.I wonder if we can work a player switch. You know trade with someone in the mid-round of the first. They draft Kenny, and we draft Dorsey or someone, and we trade and we collect their claim to Kenny and additional draft picks, cash, and maybe some players. Its becoming more and more clear that if Miami wants to trade down, they will have to take less than what is due for a #1 pick.

Like $1M-3M in cash

a second AND fourth or a fifth this year,OR a their next years first

Kenny Philips

And some players

i would be happy with that:

1-extra money

2-a great safety

3-a couple of players to mold our holes

4-and some additional picks

I think the other team would be happy with a deal like that...

Yes he is most definitely dropping. BUT, it means nothing as he can just as easily move up 10-15 spots by impressing through the combine, work outs and interviews yet to be had. I see the same thing with Dan Conner. If either falls to 32 we'll have some interesting choices to make.

My favorite player was KP at the U but now he has left. I think hes a very good talent but i dont know why his stock is falling. Ima homer so of course everything is gonna be positve.

KP is a FS we have that unless ALLEN goes SS.

Allen's been playing strong safety for much of the season.

Phillips is a little overrated IMO.

Boomer,

What do you think about Jason Allen's progress last year and how he'll play next year. And what do you think of S Thomas DeCloud from Cal?

I thought Jason played better, his confidence grew and he seemed to stop overthinking and actually played. His run support was excellent and Todd Bowles will love his ability to get his hands on the ball.

DeCoud? Good player in terms of his physical ability, long arms and hitting ability but he never makes a play. His lack of big plays is scary considering how much he's played. But his ST value is strong and he'll get looks in the 4th/5th round area me thinks.

To me Phillips just doesn't have that game changing ability of Landry, Taylor, Whitner, or Huff to warrant a top 10. This draft has few gotta have players, and if you're in the top ten you want something close to can't miss as possible. He's just not one of them and he'll probably get drafted more in line with his talent level and not the hype, so I easily see 20 and maybe even lower considering some people might not see that much difference from him and the other safeties (Smith or Decoud). I personally like Griffin and Barrett.

he did? I saw it on a few coverages but never knew it was for most of the season.

Allen said o nce he started a few games it went back to him being a kid n playing the game n not the grown man that just thinks more then he plays. I think tahts why he played so well. I do believe he will be a 80 tackle 5 plus INT guy next year. Hes potential is off the charts.

the one thing is that parcells doesnt really do those types of deals. he finds his guy and gets his guy. he wont get someone then trade him.

if phillips stock is falling, whomever needs a safety should jsut take him anyways. there not many others in this draft too intriguing

boom... define overrated.

like too overrated to take him if he falls to us at 32???

or you just agree that he is not top 20 caliber.

Phillips is very overrated (coming from a huge UM homer)

He isn't athletic enough to man up on receivers (every single time he played man this year it seemed like it was a touchdown) and not quite the hitter to be a Harrison type.

Personally I dont believe he will be half the player Merriweather will be, and I wouldn't touch Phillips until the late second round. He will be gone by then though.

Just my observations...

In that I think he has some issues in coverage, that he's not a massive playmaker and if Miami didn't have a history of great safety play, would he be talked up as much as he is?
