...is anyone else completely PUMPED that the season is starting? This is probably the most excited I've been since the Nick Saban days. My wife even noticed that I've had an extra pep in my step lately. I am seriously jacked about the season...so much so that I'm even watching the pre-game show of the initial Thursday night game.

I feel like the only thing that could derail Miami's season is the O-line. Yes, our LBs and DBs are average at best, but they won't be the cause of our demise IMO...it all hinges on the OL and protecting Tannehill.

And yes, DeAngelo Williams just had a nice first run...remember he idolized Ricky which made me a fan of Williams.

Way more pumped than back in the Nick Saban days. Our current team has a lot more talent.

I'm with you man I'm pumped...also watched some of the crappy pregame. Can't wait to see our fins win some games...although seeing this game reminds me they have to play the games....stuff happens, just hope they are as good as I think!

If someone isnt pumped for the season starting tonight.... they prob not a real football fan!!!

We used to have years when I would say "time for 7 weeks of Dolphin football" because by that point we were done. Feels good to know we are gonna be in the mix this year

Philban better have watched all those time managment mistakes and damn well make sure he doesn't do the same.

personally for me, I was emotionally invested after the acquisition of Suh. That's when I realized they were serious. I think we all have a right to be optimistic, however, this roster has more transformations to go until we become elite. I hope we can get through some cap issues next year

I'm very pumped for the season because for the first time in a long time my brain connects with my heart. This roster makes sense. The people in charge do things intelligently. We still have areas of weakness and I'd be kidding myself not to have massive doubts about philbin, but I'm very optimistic for this year. Watching the Pats last night, it's clear that to beat them it's not going to be about minimizing our weaknesses but maximizing our strengths. We need players on this team to separate themselves as great. Nowhere would that have more impact than with Tannehill. But there are a number of players on this team capable of making that leap up to an elite level of play.

Love this post. And you are right, we always hope with our heart, but objectively, this roster is better. And yes, it makes sense. Two other things, could our strengths help the weaknesses? For example, two great tackles and a center can help give the extra 1.5 seconds for Tannehill and a stout Line can help linebackers trying to find themselves

As for Philbin, Bellichick and Carroll failed too, and probably changed their style. Although one style is cheating. Philbin has changed, and I believe a lot has to do with a new front office that believed consistency was imperative. I will always challenge my Phins Brothers and ask, if not Philbin then who? Good coaches and qb's are just not available

After watching the Steelers completely blow it last night(albeit missing some key guys) I'm thinking Tannehill throws 4 TDs on the Redskins. Let everybody know the Pats don't have the only QB that can sling it all over in the East!

I am super excited for this season. Living in Greece, this time of the year is like Christmas for me. Soccer is great and all, but its a joy for me when I know the start of the NFL and NHL season is upon us. I would say the Heat too, but basketball has become a bit of a soap opera IMO. Still love the Heat, and the Panthers (NHL) are my #1 love, but I am super pumped about the Fins this season. I believe, even with Philbin, we have turned the corner, and we will be like the Steelers, Colts, Pats, etc. back in the day, when they were bad, and began their run of success. I just believe in this team, and believe that we are going to see a pretty good run down here, South Florida sports wise in general. We have two young teams (Panthers and Fins), who are ready to make that jump into playoff contenders, and a basketball team that will be a playoff team. Its a great time to be a fan of South Florida sports!

I want a blowout. If they want to shorten the playbook after we go up big, fine, I just dont want to ease the pedal at all. Come out, drop 30+ points on the road, and show the AFC that we are going to be a pain in everyones arses this season!

I just want us to not shoot ourselves in the foot like we always do and like the Steelers did last night.
