Want to know what kind of play calling is going on from our offensive coordinator. I mean, the last 2 drives of the game, we were running all over their defence, and on the 1st drive we run a reverse( which you know they have seen on film 100 times ) and on the 2nd drive we pass the ball for an interception with 3 yards for a first down. It is frustrating because none of us are coaches, but we can even see we needed to pound the ball. I think we would have won the game if we scored a TD on either one of those drives. It seems that Linehan feels like he has to pass even when the run game is working. I know we need balance, but not on 3rd and 3.:yell:

It was a good playfake with good coverage and a bad pass.
end of story.

 Were you watching the same game? Ronnie was running all over them, he would have got a 1st down, if not it would have been 4th and 1. It was a bad call! No excuses!

here is Scott Linehan:

End around. Reverse. Double reverse. sideline pass (4 times). run the ball with authority from Ricky's 23 yard TD to ronnie just outright punishing Atlanta, no, I dont like it, I think Ill pass some more cus the running isnt fooling them even though we are getting 5 yards a pop consistantly. I think I want to risk a pass getting Intercepted with the field all shortened at the 10 yard line and with the defense surely going to play up to stop the run, which wasnt working anyways........dude has no clue.

Really? a playfake near the goal line after consecutive successful runs is a bad call?
I don't know why you would think that.
When exactly is the best situation to run a playfake?

All I know is now I need a new remote, since I threw it at the wall on that last int.

RUN THE DAMN BALL !!!

The problem with the call, is that when ricky and ronnie where both in the game, it was having hte oppisite effect as intended. When they were both in the game, atl was playing pass. They showed the stat, when they were both in the game, there was what, 6 passes one run? I think thats it. And ATL was tipping off on this and playing the pass.

If I recall correctly, on that play R,R was in the game.

I would have preferred a run there, we were running the ball at will on them. A playfake wasn't necessarily a horrible call, but th epass was just horrible. I saw 2 defenders in the area of the pass. A great play by the defender none the less, but the pass shouldn't have been thrown.

If we're doing that, why not throw a pass to the end of hte endzone. Watch the replay top left corner of the endzone, single coverage. We throw there, worse that happens is incomplete pass. The pass was horrible. I sitll don't like the call though.

Look! If the run wasn't working, then maybe. Also, it isn't like gus was havin a 106.9 quarterback rating day either. We were running it down their throat. 3 yards to go for a first. Ronnie was pounding them even with the D line stacked and your defending a play fake. Thinking like that is why we lost, the same thinking as Linehan. Maybe, Linehan should be sitting where you are instead of up in the booth.

They play calling was very strange....double reverses that lose 15 yards.....not ramming the ball down their throats after Ronnie and Ricky were getting big chunks of yardage. I put as much blame on the D for not being able to shut them down on 3rd down...every time Vick needed a big pass he made it.

We scored 10 points, and your blaming the D for the loss. Even though Vick lit us up, Frerotte deserves the blame.

at some point you have to put it in your qb hands to make a play. a good qb would have thrown it away or scrambled, gus did what most bad qb do.. now i believe we can put sage in and the players will be behind him:)

Its not you. We have a really bad Offensive Coordinator. He needs to go back to Minnesota. I hope they hire him as head coach. He calls the dumbest plays with the least chance of success. :shakeno:

The OL let no sacks, hurries or hits, yet all he did was 13 of 22, 1 int a miss that would have been a TD. Send him to MINN.

That sums up Gus Linehan in one sentence! Period!

and evrytime we do the reverse it is in the 1st quarter on our FIRST drive. Kinda of a routine now.
