Philbin told Ross and Ireland that if Manning falls in their lap, they should of course take him, but don't worry because Flynn is the man they should focus on? His argument being, Manning gives you a 2-3 year window to win before you're back at square one...whereas Flynn will be the answer for a decade.

Not saying I agree with this, but a possible scenario.

I think that is exactly what they are discussing right now. If Manning doesn't choose us, we need a contingency plan. Plan A: Sign Matt Flynn. Plan B: draft Tannehil and keep Moore as starter. Either way we will be fine. We were one of the youngest, most talented team's in this league before Peyton got cut and that hasn't changed, despite what the haters may believe.

I wonder if Manning to Miami has not always been plan B all along. Or possibly plan C. With RGIII being A and Flynn being B or vice versa. New HC, new era, old QB just does not make sense. I think if Peyton really showed a desire to come and was willing to accept an incentive laden contract than it could get done. But on the Dolphins terms, not Manning's. Now if Flynn decides on Cleveland over Miami, than the FO moves on to Tannehill and we have an open competition to start the season with Moore and Tannehill. If someone jumps us for Tannehill, we start the season with Moore and look to next years draft.
