Just a random thought but doesn't it seem like Jason Allen is not getting the credit and praise he deserves after having a really good season last year? I have heard no praise from the coaches or the media but this guy only started NINE games last season and recorded 62 tackles and 3 interceptions. Now Ken Hamlin made the Pro Bowl as a free safety, which is the same position Allen played, and Hamlin recorded 62 tackles and 5 interceptions after starting 16 games. I think if Allen had been able to start all season like he should have he would have been on pace for at least 80 tackles and maybe 4 or 5 interceptions which are definitely Pro Bowl numbers. I just remember watching games last season and he seemed to be the only guy on defense making plays. I would be really upset if he does not get the starting job at free safety this season because he has the potential to be a great player on the Dolphins.

Let me know what you guys think.

I think his future now looks bright. He played very well near the end of last season. I think the starting job at FS is his to lose, unless we draft a guy like a Kenny Phillips or something. Even then, I think he would be one of the 2 starting safeties on this team.

He did play very well last season. I think our secondary is going to be pretty good this year with Jason Allen, Will Allen, Yeremiah bell who hopefully can stay healthy, possibly Lito Shepherd, or anyone we draft.

Mr. Allen needs to being able to be counted on and play at a high level play in and play out. I cant say that he's there yet. You guys?

Allen did play well, but he's got a ways to go. Don't we have like 7 safeties on the roster now? I say let Allen compete hard in camp and show that he has really matured into the player we all thought he could be.

Kenny was a strong safety at Miami. I don't think he'll be moving. And they'd be a great combo back there.

IMO... JA made the most out of his limited opportunities... and let's face it... the last regime didn't exactly have their act together about when to put players on the field..... long way to go to be the player many thought he could be... we'll know for sure in 08....

I hope Jason Allen continues to improve on the progress he made towards the end of last season. Let him play at FS, DON'T MOVE HIM AROUND!

I disagree. Jason Allen did not play well last season. I saw nothing in him to think he's the future. He played better than Cam Worrell and Mr. I Got A Passport So Sign Me. But that's not saying much.

The secondary as a whole was AWEFUL. Throw a couple more young guys back there that can make plays and Allen will look a lot better.

I guarantee that Jason Allen put himself in Bill Parcells' doghouse after he ran down the field celebrating his big hit on Chad Johnson. The problem was that Chad hung on to the pass for a 15 yard completion and a first down. And our idiot safety is celebrating. Allen showed some positive signs last year, but has a LONG way to go. Don't forget, Maroney's long TD run against us was because Allen lined up in the wrong spot for the defense that was called.

i like jason Allen i think he will be a good Saftey and if we draft Kenny Phillips in the 2nd round i think we can move Jason Allen over to SS he is big enough and is strong enough

i am not a big jason allen fan but i do know that changing is position again is the last thing he needs

Really well last year? he played better, but I remember him over pursuing, missed tackles, some bad angles. etc.. Same could be said about Crowder. Don't let his few INTs fool you. He still has a mountain to climb.

I agree but i am saying if we draft Kenny Phillips he could play SS it is pretty much the same thing just doing less covrage and doing more on helping stop the run
