I was just curious if there were other deep snappers on the team other than Denney? Anyone know?

In addition, I appreciate the bold roster predictions, but I would say they are not going to be accurate given final cuts. Why? I expect Saban and Mueller to be active. As many trades and pick ups and can be done and not create chaos. Saban has been consistent in his comments about the bottom of the roster and the inconsistent play from his backups. I expect additions in the secondary especially. If not, so be it, but I sure do anticipate this.

I would agree with what you say about the secondary, but those guys just aren't out there.

Jeff Zgonina is a LS as well....I agree with you on Mueller and Saban..they'll be a few surprise moves...

I don't know. But he did recently stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

We also had William Delahoussaye on the roster who was nothing but a LS, and while I did not see any report of him being cut, he is no longer listed.
The funny thing about Zgonina is when he was drafted by Pittsburgh, some draft experts thought he would only be able to play in the NFL as a long snapper and that his skills as a college NT did not translate well to the NFL.
Funny how things turn out isn't it?
Denney is good sized for a LS and very strong. 36 reps on the B/P at the combine. I would not be shocked if he eventually could play some on the DL.
Saban made the comment about something like Denney is expected to improve the interior of the line on placements because of his size and strength, which IMO means making it less possible to collapse the pocket and a defender getting a hand on a long attempt with the lower necessary trajectory.
Also that when things are equal, you always go with the younger guy. I wonder if this will mean any other surprise cuts? Donnie Jones seems to be holding his own vs Turk.

Turk still looks better than him. I read somewhere that were probably going to put Donnie Jones on the Practice Squad.

It's odd about punters...seems they have to be in the league for several years before they get looked at seriously...Jones has been great in practice but it hasn't translated to games..he is a little weak in placement, which is an important part of the pro game...remember that took Reggie Roby a few years to learn..he could put a hole in the ozone with the height and distance he got, but couldn't coffin corner it for about 2 seasons...I'd like to see Turk replaced with someone younger and cheaper, and he might be. Every coach has his thing..JJ/Wanny wanted a good solid STs play and spent more on kickers and punters than many teams...I don't know about how much emphasis Saban places on those positions...
