Check out this story from The Palm Beach Post: Oxbridge's Keidron Smith fires up family with bid to make Dolphins

Safety Keidron Smith, who played at Oxbridge, signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent, bringing ‘much joy and happiness' to his family.

Appearently Smith was given a mid round grade by Nagy. High praise.

Seems like he has the talent to make it. That 40 time is a but suspect to play in an NFL secondary. Just under 4.6. Hopefully he develops into a nice backup safety.

40 time isnt concerning for me, some of the best safeties from past two decades have similiar times.

Kam chancellor, brian dawkins, rodney harrison, ed reed. Some of the all time greats.

If he can break into this group, he’ll be special!

There will most likely be seven (7) DB roster “locks” with twelve (12) remaining players competing for three (3) open spots.

1. Jalen Ramsay
2. Xavien Howard
3. Jevon Holland
4. DeShon Elliott
5. Brandon Jones
6. Kader Kohou
7. Cam Smith (R)
8. - 10. Nick Needham - Justin Bethel - Keion Crossen - Trill Williams - Elijah Campbell - Bennett Williams (R) - Noah Igbinoghene - Bryce Thompson - Ethan Bonner (R) - Tino Ellis - Verone McKinley- Keidron Smith (R)

—Can play multiple positions?
—Can play Specials?
—How much experience in zone defense?
—What is the value of contract?
—Injury history

That's a helluva list of names competing for 3 spots. Camp will be interesting this summer for sure.

That's good. I didn't take the time to compare it to past players. Hopefully he pans out. Is he an explosive hitter like the dudes you mentioned? I saw in the article it said he is a willing tackler. Hopefully he works out. I think secondary is the unit on a football team that can never have enough high quality players.

This shows what a battle he has in front of him. Never know, but those are long odds.

Well the 3.155M (non guaranteed) cap hit for Keion Crossen stands out like a sore thumb.

You can probably start there for a guy who's job he could take as a STer.

Sorry Keion but you're not going to make half a mil more than Jevon Holland this year so definitely have a plan B and C.

That and the guys coming back from injury in the secondary might need more time to get right.

Should be interesting. Crossen seems like a for sure target for release even though is a ST ace. It doesn’t make sense if you have dbs that can actually cover people when they have to play. He can’t.

The UDFA who plays as well as Crossen has a job
