Whats the deal with McMike? Is he gunna get suspended? If a suspension hasnt been issued yet, what are the chances that one does? (Good thing to know for fantasy football too  )

If he goes to court for it, whether he settles or not, I have a feeling there will be some kind of suspension. I just hope it's not too serious. I really don't like the depth at TE.

he just got fined...no suspension....dont worry

He wasn't fined. Nothing is going to happen until it goes to court which may be next offseason.

Hopefully this season he will keep his hands on the football instead of his wife

So does anyone know if he will get suspended or not? With only 3 replys there have already been conflicting posts...

I haven't heard word on when his court date is. The NFL won't touch him until that happens, so if his lawyers push it off until next offseason then that will be when he will get suspended.

Look.

The DA in Georgia said he would grant a continuance if McMichael requested one. I'm sure he and his attorney will.

That means, he'll play the whole season without a suspension, and the trial will take place after the season.

The DA for the county where the case will go to trial, has publically stated that he was OK with putting the court date off until after this season is over. I don't think they've announced the official court date yet, but I'm sure McMike and his laywers would be happy to take the DA up on his offer and wait until the next offseason to deal with it.

I'm pretty sure the NFL won't take any action, until after the legal system has done it's thing.

Conflicting reports as to whether or not McMikes trial will be postponed till after the season. He can be suspended at any time if he fails to comply with the counseling and evaluation procedures that are mandatory for any player CHARGED with a crime. If he is charged with ANOTHER crime while undergoing counseling and evaluation he will be suspended. Also, if were to make some stupid statement that implied its OK to hit your wife he could be suspended. Of course if he goes to trial and is convicted he will be suspended.

But, if he complies with all the counseling and evaluation, doesnt get charged with another crime, keeps his mouth shut, and either beats the rap or gets his trial postponed till after the season, he should be able to play all the games in '05
