Is is the end of the Pats dynasty? I think they will be competitive but I don't know if they can dominate like they used to. If Brady ever goes down with an injury for a long stretch of games, they could be in trouble. I see the Pats looking up at the Dolphins in the standings for the next few years. :dolphins:

I would never discount the Pats. Remember after their first super bowl win, the next year they missed the playoffs. As good as they are at plugging in talent, they will always be dangerous.

I foresee the "Brady to Branch" hookup being like the "Manning to Harrison" hookup. The Patriots will always have a big strike offense with those two guys. But they have no running game with Dillon and Faulk. Dillon can have big games, but he gets hurt and wears down. Also, the Patriots defense is getting older. The are beatable. They wear down easier now too. Their secondary is average.

I'm sure Belicheck will make changes each offseason. It will help them compete each year. They will be competitive for years to come. However, they are not the team they once were - the team that won three of four Super Bowls. That is over. Teams have a much better chance at beating them now. Playing them at home will still be tough for any team. But I can see teams like Miami getting more of a shot at taking them out now.

Thanks guys. NE always seems to put a good team on the field. I think next year the Pats record will be around 9-7 or maybe 10 -6.

I feel the Dolphins will finish ahead of them in the standings. :dolphins:

I tend to agree with mcteems in this bold quote...

This year the Pats have trailed at the end of the 3rd quarter in 9 games (including the Post Season)...

They have lost 8 of those games...

Their Defense was decimated with injuries most of last year also, and they were only behind once...

They are not the same team that has won two back to back SBs, that is for sure...

The Patriots will continue to be a super bowl contendor until Belichek leaves. But i think its safe to say THE PATRIOTS DYNASTY IS OVER

The tide has turned but look at the other two teams in the division. NE will be competitive and I do not think 2 wins against them is a done deal. Tom Brady gives them an edge. But Tommy will have to learn to deal with adversity now like never before. The crying and whining to refs isnt going to work anymore.

I think they will still compete but the Dynasty is over....every team has their 2-3 years when the sun shines on their butts.....the Dolphins 1971-1973 (3 straight bowls and 2 wins), Pittsburgh (mid to late 1970's), San Fran (1980's), Dallas (the 1990's), There will now be a new Dynasty....THE MIAMI DOLPHINS!!!

I dont believe so. time will tell

I think that they will be tough, but not as dominant. They do have some unrestricted FA this year....and If I am not mistaken, Branch is one of them....I think basically their whole reciever corps is. and it is obvious that Seymour is not happy....and Now there are rumblings that Mcginnist wants out...(although that could be the local sports radio guy's little ad lib because of the sideline incident in Denver)

It will be an interesting off season for both us and them. But being the homer that I am, I will say that we will emerge on top!!!!!

I posted this in another thread but I'm gonna keep it handy everytime one of these threads comes up. A quick note before I get called a closet Pat's fan...I DESPISE the Patriots more then any team on Earth. I hate them more then anyone here. I still get LIVID when I think of the 1985 AFC Championship game. If Craig James is a co-host on a college halftime or pregame show I have to change the channel because of my immense dislike for him...that being said...

You all can have your fun throwing dirt on the Patriots after they lost a playoff game in a VERY tough place to play.

You can all say they are done, they'll lose a ton of games next year, they'll finish third in the division...etc.

I think you should all get a hold of yourselves.

They had 45 different starters this year and still won the division and won a playoff game.

They had injuries on the O-line, nothing at running back, their whole secondary was patchwork, and for the most part a disaster area, Bruschi missed half the year and they had injuries on the D-line.

They are NOT an old team, in fact, most of their core players are quite young still, they'll be healthy and they always draft well.

If they get a running back look out.

I see them winning 11 or 12 games next year. If we want to win the division I think 12 wins is the minimum.

To be honest, Im willing to pick them right now to be representing the AFC in Super Bowl 41.

They are going to lose some players. it is inevitable. I do not think that they are going to represent the AFC in the SB next year, nor I do think that the phins will rise that quickly either. I do however think that we can win the division.

It's Givens not Branch. Givens though has been great for us. He is gone. Some team will throw a ton of money at him. McGinest isn't going anywhere.

I don't think they are. I'm not a Patriots fan, but I do respect what they have done. I wouldn't be surprised if they make some major off season moves for the better.

They need to find a running back to replace the washed up Corey Dillon, and a new Wide Receiver. I wouldn't doubt if Bill Belicheck start to show some interest in picking up Terrell Owens to replace David Givens. They picked up Corey Dillon before, and he was a cancer, Bill Belicheck can control him.

Also, they should be rewarded Rodney Harrison back in training camp. And they are likely drafting defensively this year, they need new cornerbacks and yeah.
