Pat White has survived his first full week at Qb in the NFL process and I'm curious what my fellow phinfans think of Pat White so far?

Has he practiced well enough to allow anyone to see Henne being inactive on Gameday?

Sun Sentinnel kept some stats on the scrimmage:

White is primarily a shotgun Qb, that is his element, so if White is active and Penny goes down, we will see the shotgun offense, if Henne is active and White is not, we could run the base offense.

The reason that is important is White's WC value may not be enough to keep him active on Gameday over Henne.

the guy can hardly handle a simple snap from under center. the coaches are changing his delivery, leaving some of White's passes widely inaccurate. he's far from ready to make an impact out of the base offense. we may get him involved in some way, but we absolutely have to have Henne on the gameday roster.

They are going to have to find another position thats deep enough to keep 1 person inactive, may DB or OLB in order to have all 3 qb'savailable on Gameday.

From what I have read, seems both are on a even keel. Both White and Henne have differant strengths and weakness, you have to give the edge to Henne due to more experience with the Dolphins.

omar said something that kinda made sense on the radio..... if you can't put white at another position, deactivate henne because you need the threat of pat white in defenses' minds, and ride out white for the rest of that game if anything happens to the noodler

Until P.White can run an offense from under Centre he will only be a package QB. Henne still would give us the best chance to win if Penny went down, I really believe once Henne gets his shot he won't look back.

So as of right now White has some work to do just to get on the field for the WC let alone to run a real offense.

i read every damn training camp report and thats not the impression i've gotten at all... did he play better at the scrimmage? maybe...

but i think a more valid question would be Is Chad Henne performing better than Chad Pennington... though we know the answer is No, i think it is a more debatable than if White is outperforming Henne

I recall Sparano saying their going to use White in packages where he is comfortable. To me he looks like he has the most success our of the gun on roll out plays, which is to be expected considering the offense he ran in college.

Is he better than Henne?? Dumb question! Totally different skill sets. White cannot stand back in the pocket and throw passes.
On the same note, Henne cannot rollout and throw on the move like white.

Your comparing apples to oranges.

It sounds like White is improving but he is not close to Henne. You will probably have to wait to next year to determine if there is going to be a QB battle between those 2.

I hate that idea. If Pennington goes down I want Henne in for two reasons. That is a perfect chance to get him real in-game experience and he is our best chance to win since he can run our offense while White would force us to go outside of our base offense.

Is Pat White performing better than Henne? I guess the only answer for me would be...was he suppose too?

For those that say White can only play at shotgun and not under center...let me remind you of what Jim Kelly and Marino did in the shotgun...they were very successful were they not!

It's pure foolishness to say that either player is perfoming better than the other when neither has played a real full NFL game...both bring a different style to the offense...both add to the Dolphins...and thats the way it should be.
