With a gaping hole the size of the Grand Canyon in the middle of our once proud defensive line, is Pat Williams of the Bills going to be a free agent come March? If so, what are the chances that the Dolphins pick him up?
In my opinion he would be an amazing addition to an already stout defense. However, with the hypothetical addition of Williams, it would probably mean the end of a long and stellar career by Tim Bowens.

Your input is welcome........

If we didnt have to break the bank for Williams, I think he'd be a nice addition to this team. I think picking up a big, fat-a$$ run stuffer in the 3rd or something would be a better idea, though.

He's already said he wants to stay in Buffalo, he lives there all year round. He's not going anywhere.

THis is a business. If we can better our run D by getting Williams then I'll gladly wave bye bye to Timbo.

I'd miss him though.

why are there so many topics about FA from buffalo???

but, its possable. hes a good "big butt in the middle". but hes getting old (32), and might be asking more than we will give him.

but he has family and alot of ties to buffalo, and has said he wants to get paid what he thinks hes worth, but REALLY wants to stay in buffalo, where he has other buisnesses and family. im guessing the bills will offer him a "cap firendly" contract like we did with S. Adams.
I really hope he takes it....

Pat is 33 years old....what did Saban say about not giving contracts to guys late in their career?

Saban said that hes trying to build for the long haul by getting younger, Williams doesnt fit that model

He's a free agent but I'd prefer to pick up someone in the draft.
I think we can do both though. I'm not sure what Pat would be asking, but we've also got to make a decision on TimBo and his current salary. I'd like to have one of them (whichever is more palatable from a salary cap standpoint ... sorry for the standpoint) and I think we should also draft a DT.

There are only a certain amount of positions we can address though. If TimBo comes back it will be at a reduced salary so, I'd prefer to have TimBo and Larry Chester come back as the starters, have Jeff Zgonina (who I thought played relatively well last year) as the top backup, and draft someone with one of our picks this April.

I wouldn't mind having Pat Williams on the roster if the price is right. Then we can possibly move Zgonina to DE sincehe's a better pass rusher than run stopper and he's too small for DT, just right for DE.

I believe something will get done. Bills have a decenty cap situation in '05 and in the near future. Jennings, IMHO, packed his bags before the '04 season. He played hurt all year (just watch how bad he looked at NYJ this season), in yrs past, he hasn't played hurt. Impending FA can be a better remedy for pain than morphine

I don't see Zgonina gettin much pass rush from a DE, they'd be too quick for him especially at his age...maybe if we ran a 3-4 but we're not doin that.

If we can get Pat to come here I'd do it, he'd really do something for our run game. How is his injury status? It seems DT is one position you sometimes can last a while if you're huge.
