Through week 6 Chad is:
  • Has the 3rd highest passer rating in the AFC through week 6.
  • Has the 2nd best completion percentage behind (blah) Favre.
  • Has the 6th most yards and 6th most ypg
  • Is second in average YPA with 8.0 behind Rivers 9.0
  • Tied for 6th with Anderson and Schuab for passing TD's
  • Tied for 1st with Edwards and Russell with only 2 INT's, however, he ahead of them in every other major stat category which IMO makes Chad the superior QB out of the 2
So do these stats make him pro bowl worthy through week 6, thoughts? IMO maybe not a starter, but definately a solid #2 or #3.

If there were ever a chance for Chad to make the Pro Bowl, this year is it. With Brady out and Manning somewhat struggling, he could do it. The team needs to keep playing well and winning games also. BTW, he should have made it in 2002.

Jay Cutler
Peyton Manning
Phillip Rivers
Ben Roethlisberger
Jett Favre
and after last night, Derek Anderson

Would all beat him out.

I like Chad alot, but he's no probowler.

Not this year they aren't. I'm not willing to toss someone onto a Pro Bowl team after one game. Chad Pennington could easily have the same game Anderson had last night at any time this season. Big Ben is dragging himself through the season injured. Peyton on the otherhand might still have a shot. He looks to be getting used to his knee now. I still say Chad has a chance this year if he stays on this pace. Especially with Brady gone.

But your doing that after only 5......

Manning got off to a rough start but look at what he did to the Ravens last week.

The cream will rise to the top.

Look, I hope Chad DOES make the Pro-Bowl, that means we had a great year. But don't you guys all think its a little early to be worrying about who will make the Pro-bowl after 5 games?

Lets at least give it till Decemeber before we start talking about individual awards. Heck, I'd even bet that any player on this team would MUCH rather make the playoffs than to play a meaningless game in Hawaii.

I think his first two games messed him up a bit

throwing 23 incomplete balls in the first two weeks and only 16 in the last 3 games..

he has thrown 20 passes less than brett and is almost similar to the amount of yards as him...

compared to some others in the afc

Another Derek Anderson to the Pro Bowl comment?

Mark my words, Brady Quinn will become the starter at some point this season.

Where do you see that?

Can you even see past that paper bag? :)

he's been really good but I think he doesn't have enough TDs to make it at this point

If he continues to play at an efficient, mistake free level, he could make a spot on the AFC roster. He's in the top 3 in QB rating, as you can see. There's a long way to go, though. Talk to me again in at least 5 weeks.

Cutler and Rivers have the numbers, Manning and Favre have the name recognition.

that said, a couple of years ago McNair went to Hawaii after a somewhat underwhelming year simply because a lot of guys backed out of playing in the Pro Bowl

Pennington making it to the Pro Bowl would be a story for the ages... Much like Rudy Ruedager making it to the Notre Dame squad.

maybe if he had some good wr's he could be he doesnt so he will be on the outside looking in.
