Is that a good thing?

For now I feel, strongly, that he MUST remain as he is because we are in a rebuilding phase. You?

When we win a big game, and he is dowsed with a Gatorade bath, will he crack a smile?

he cracks corny jokes all the time..and seems really approachable. He is way better personality wise compared to previous coaches we have had. Why do we have to be rebuilding? I know there is 50 other threads about this, but I can see this team come around if a receiver or two steps up and we get some decent qb play.

Personality-wise, he is a bit too much like Cam Cameron and Larry Coker for my tastes, but he also seems to be much more intelligent than those guys, so that may be his saving grace. But honestly, coaching is overstated. Bottom Line: If Tannehill pans out, he will be considered a good coach, if he doesn't, he will be considered a bad coach.

Whatever his demeanor might be when we get to winning or losing games, I'm sure as hell it's gonna be a lot better than:

And BANG! Reality strikes!

I think he needs to not beat around the bush. When Chad Johnson came in, he should have said "Chad, we have to release you. You have been cut from the team.....and here is why and yada yada." instead of well, we kinda gotta sorta release you maybe.

I just hope the players didn't read into it like you just did.

The end result was the same. Joe told Chad to split in the manner he did because Joe knew about all the crap that Johnson was undergoing at that time. Why be an jackhole about it. He did the deed calmly and flexed his muscles - even though he said he wasn't - and that's pretty cool in my book.

Not saying this is not a part of a HC's success but didnt philbin pass on Flynn? Didnt he stick to his guns on getting RT? Didnt he hire the guy who runs this offense where RT comes from? Was he not the genius who came up with two offenses/defenses going almost simultaneously?

Facts are that Philbin is very well respected around the league regaurdless. This guy is light years ahead of fail forward fastly

It is better to be too strict than too lax. For example look at the New York jets.

Well, we haven't even played one game yet. What if Matt Flynn turns into a pro bowler in Seattle and Tannehill flames out? That's a worst case scenario, but that could happen, so it makes no sense to pat him on the back for those things just yet.

The fact is, his success as an NFL head coach depends ENTIRELY on the success of Ryan Tannehill from this point forth.

Wouldn't it be awesome to be on Hard Knocks and our HC telling our players to fail forward fast haha

THE NFL IS A NOW LEAUGE THERES NO SUCH THING AS REBUILDING. 2-3 years no change your out!

I don't see Cam Cameron at all, the only similarity is that both are not loud and cursing all the time. Philbin comes across much more educated than Cameron ever did and so far isn't afraid to confront players. He told Chad how it was going to be and had a talk with Dansby. Cameron just hid in the corner of the plane when Porter went off on the team on the flight home one game. I see Philbin more in a Tony Dungy mold.
