Is Saban GOD?

Your preaching to the choir. He hasn't proven anything yet and everyone here knows this.

Sorry man, he's shown a lot to me since he has arrived.

I have loved the moves he has made so far.

People on the boards are raving about Saban. Smokescreen, draft strategies etc. Is he truly that smart or is he a rookie who is going to get schooled? My money is on rookie for he is!

I would love to be proved wrong but to date what has Saban done in the NFL to warrant such praise? In my mind nothing!

I would love to eat my words I really would but Saban has no track record in the NFL. Just like a draft pick Saban could be a huge bust.

I guess in a few days we find out if he is the coach/player personel person we all hope he is! Right now nothing would surprise me.

I seem to remember a college coach in washington and that didnt work out well.

By all means I want to be proved wrong but Saban needs to earn my respect and till this date he has not. I admit he has plugged a few holes through FA but theres lots more to do!

But coach Spurrier was all mouth. Notice how little Saban is saying? That's because he is concentrating on building a team instead of mouthing off and enjoying his power trip. It's called hard work and intensity. That's why people rave about him. He is a winner because he is willing to take care of every detail that is going to contribute or even possibly contribute to winning. The guys that talk and style for the camera are the ones you don't want.
There's no magic formula to winning. There are so many things that can help you win (playcalling, hiring and working with your staff and players, motivating, preparation - studying opponents to death, scouting, drafting and signing players and free agents....). The coaches who do the most work in the most of these areas are the winners. Ever hear people talk about a coach in the modern NFL who won by putting in short easy days? No. The guy works hard. Is that so complicated? Even if he gets schooled, he will learn and eventually be a great coach. Wanny on the other hand never got any better than he was in Chicago! He was not a hard working thinker like Saban. He was more your Pete Carroll type. The guys love him cause he's slack. But once losing sets in, you want a real coach. Now we have one.:yell: :fire:

We shall all find out shortly! I wnat Saban to be a success but he has proved nothin!

He has already got Holliday and Carter to help plug holes in the D-line, all while working through a salary cap mess left by the previous dough heads. That's not a bad start. He has probably done other things, some that will pay off later that we don't know about yet.

You haven't done a whole lot though. So don't worry unless you see people starting to put their faith in you Chub!:)

I can't wait to see what he has in store for the Dolphins. Should be exciting to watch!

Saban isn't GOD but I will tell you that he has made my offseason so much better. I was so sick of the Wanny era. He has given us fans a new beginning and if you have "been" a fan you would feel this also.

He's shown a lot to me too. I just want results. When I see results (playoff wins) I'll say he's proven his worth. Ya know what I mean?

It's called trust. First of all, we trust Nick to make the right decisions. Like anything in life, he could fail or succeed, but, in OUR opinions, he'll succeed. It's also called being optimistic. Nick brings something that many of our previous coaches didn't. Intelligence and a PLAN!!!! He has had a plan since day one and is sticking to it. Who's to say if he's our saviour or not, but, we can trust him and be optimitic about the draft and the future with him.

Dude, relax.... :cooldude:

1.) Saban is NOT like Spurrier.
2.) Saban has been in the NFL before.
3.) Would you rather see a coach like Wanny?
4.) Saban has a lot of GREAT coaches around him.
5.) Who are you to judge him? Where you in the NFL?
6.) Again dude, relax.

Man, I could really go on here, but this is wasting my time. Now eat those words all up, and get FREAKING EXCITED about the Dolphins!!

"Vote for Pedro!" :D

Wow, I start a thread and the Saban protectors all come out lol. All I have done is stated fact not fiction. I think the organization as a whole is glad that Wanny is gone and was replaced not to mention player decisions removed from Rick. I personally believe a change was desperately needed and anyone would be an improvement. However is Saban an improvement?

My questions are though all this faith in Saban is unjust. Expectations from most of you far exceed what most of us would want from our draft picks for the first few years.

I noticed people saying I am not a fan lol, I have been a fan of the fins longer than some of these people have been alive. As for validation that Saban used to be in the NFL as an assistant all I can say is Wanny was too!

To this point Saban has signed a few FA's and in my opinion has improved the team, adding to that the limited cap space he inherited I think he has done a very good job.

I want to have faith in Saban I truly do but too many people are thinking he is a savvy veteran coach. This is Saban's first year and to expect the world is like expecting us to Draft Alex Smith and lead us to the promise land in a year!
Both are rookies and are going to make mistakes.

I understand having blind faith in him for we must right now, so far he hasnt made any mistakes in my mind.

Guys though just remember Saban's Record as a coach in the NFL all zero's. Wanny's record is better lol. By no means do I want Wanny back though.

Saban has proved nothing as a coach yet. I hope he does in time!
