Is Sparano a puppet?

So hard to get any Miami Dolphin news on the opposite side of the country....but, I rarely hear of Coach Sparano talking about his team, needs, what's going on etc. All I ever read about is Bill Parcels.

What I am wondering is, is Sparano a puppet to Parcels; much like Switzer was for Jerry Jones?

I'd like to see Bill get off the field and let his handpicked coach.....coach.

He did comment on JT, and a couple of times at camp.

With BP though, the media will always talk about him over anyone else.

Sparano is not a puppet, he is just simply a part of the trifecta. Sort of like one of the corners to the bermuda triangle. But in essence he is learning. In his first year as head coach, he shouldn;t be talking, just be quiet and learn.

Hmm...probably wise to do just that. I guess it would be hard to get out of the shadow of someone like BP with his repuatation and history.

i don't know if i'd call him a puppet of Parcells, but with him being a rookie head coach on the pro level,i think he'll be learning alot from Parcells. yes,he knows how to coach, but that was on the collegiate level and as an O-Line coach here in the pros, but now he has to oversee everything,so he'll be learning alot from Bill, but i wouldn't call him a puppet.

Short answer: yes. Long answer: Yeah. Longer answer: Yeeeesssssss.

He's not a puppet, he's a real boy!

Sorry - that's the kind of stuff that just pops into my head after reading countless fairy tales to my daughter. :D

Ha! Totally understand...3 daughters myself.

I mean this is absurd, to call him a puppet is to totally ignore that Bill Parcells has left behind a legacy of great coaches who were assistants under him. How coveted are wade Phillips and other cowboys coaches and assistants? To say he is a puppet implies that without Parcells he will just collapse.

Every great coach was a rookie coach once. Lets not be so quick to underestimate Spirano.

Not trying to be "absurd"...just wondering how much freedom to coach Sparano really has? I'm sure he is grateful for the tutoring that he has, and will have from Bill Parcells. Just curious as to how short the reins are, that is all.

sparano is responsible for the coaching and the gamedays, practices, etc.
parcells and ireland are responsible for the buisiness part..

but i think sparano has looked up the coaching mentality form parcells because he worked with him together in dallas..he will call the plays "parcells like" imo..

and The Borg if you think it is hard to get dolphin news on the opposite side of the usa than you can't imagine how hard it is to get dolphin news in germany:lol:
