It truly must be the offseason and some serious dead time. To much of my surprise, people on Dolphins twitter are LITERALLY ARGUING about who is better. Bob Griese or Ryan Tannehill?
First let me start off by saying is this really a thing? Come on people, this is like comparing Steve Young to Jeff Garcia. But since this is a trending topic, lets debate this:

The game has changed drastically since then. Tanny is a better passer and could win a Superbowl on some of Griese's teams, but Griese would likely be holding a clip board in todays NFL.

Yes, but if Bob had Tannehill's training regimen since he was young and played in all levels of football, from peewee up, with today's supplements, today's passing rules and sports being a full time job, who doesn't think he would smoke him?

I think you need to go back and look at some tape. The author is right when he says it is like comparing Steve Young to Jeff Garcia.

Come on. Bob Griese is a Hall of Famer for a reason. In today's game maybe he'd be like a Drew Brees. I think that's a good comparison in accuracy and arm talent.

Ryan Tannehill in my estimation is slightly above average, although his numbers suggest middle of the pack.

Well Griese played 14 seasons for the phins and in 10' of those season s he threw as many or more interceptions as touchdowns. It was not until season 5 that Griese showed up. Stat wise RT holds up. Give Ryann T a Don Shula, Larry Zonka, Larry Little it would be a interesting comparison then.

Lol, give Marino the 72 Oline, backfield, and the No Name D and he'd have handed you a case full of Lombardis...

Tannehill is the better passer, but he has to be. That’s todays league. Griese could walk up to the line and know what the D was up to. That’s what sets him apart. Griese never would have had Tannehill’s stats, but he didn’t need to. Neither did anybody else.

Agree with previous posters: totally different era.

Not much is the same as it was 46 years ago.
