Well, is it?

Just seems it's that the wildcat is on the decline for us or they are begging to learn how to stop it....

Maybe we need to add some more twists and gimmicks to it to make it succesful.

Yesterday I seen Ronnie Brown trying to make a play after he was swarmed with broncos. It seemed as if he wanted to throw the ball but was unable to do so at the last second.

Also, it seemed there were a few teams around the league that tried the wildcat adn were uccesful yesterday.

So what's up with our wildcat?

The answer is "yes". I think part of the problem is that Ronnie is keeping it almost every single time. What makes the Wildcat work is the various options. He needs to hand it to Ricky more often or reverse it back to a WR. But Ronnie just keeps running it and they are all over him.

But the league has caught on and it will be tough going from here on out. I still expect to see it though.

I think we should keep it but limit it depending on the success against the current team we are using it against. If it works, keep using it, if it doesn't, move away from it.

The problem with it is that it is almost always a run play. Sure, you can do different types of runs, but its always a run.

I agree with this 110%

Yes and yes everyone is also using it now

Have to say, the Chiefs converted it very well yesterday against the Bucs.

I don't know if the Wildcat is completely dead but it sure is at the goaline or even on third down for that matter. Teams are now stacking and blitzing it.

The element of surprise is gone folks.

Teams are starting to wise up to it. Although it still could be used with some success, I wouldn't expect us to go to it as often during the second half of the season. Our offense has gotten into a rhythm somewhat, so I don't think we'll need it as much especially against some the weaker teams we face such as Sea, Oak, StL, SF, and KC.

tony yapped and yapped about all the different
things that could be run out of the cat and all we
see is the same, ronnie geting the snap, ronnie
running east/west and getting dropped!!

if they would change it up, throw out of it, let
ricky or cobbs have it, run a reverse, etc....

the anouncer said after about the 3rd failed attempt
that miami was making sure that teams still had to
spend time during the week preparing for it.

well, there all prepared now! with the finz only
running one play off of it, teams on the scedule
have already written down what to do when we
go to the cat. they probably do 2 walk throughs
on it and then game plan for the rest of miami's
offense.

We never run the sweep anymore! The defenses don't play honest because they know we don;t do the sweep, and it will always be a carry by Ronnie. We need to either do a couple sweeps early in the game, or use one of the uber-trick plays like we did in Houston to soften up the defense.
