The Dolphins move up in the draft to pick Dion Jordan. He gets a multimillion dollar contract.
The thinking Is solid so it would seem. If you are in the same division as Tom Brady you need pass rushers.
Put him in there with Wake and use the same scheme that the Giants used In the superbowl.
Makes sense to me.
After fifteen games our multimillion dollar #3 pick has two sacks.
Buffalo picks up an undrafted free agent cornerback pays him rookie minimum and in two games against us
he has a pick six and two sacks.
I do no know if it is Ireland , Philbin , or whoever.
But if this continues we are headed for the bottom of the division.

what? the reason we suck today is our o-line.. whats a rookie pass rusher gotta do with it?

That pick could have got us a really good O-lineman.
Or at least someone productive.

Not sure what his salary has to do with anything anyway. If you can't see why Dion Jordan is a good pick I don't think football is for you.

I think the OP's point is that considering the limited use we've been able to get out of him, and considering the much more pressing need we had at O-line, the pick wasn't good for the Dolphins. In other words, it may have been a great pick for some other teams, but not us. It's too early in Jordan's career to know if that criticism is valid (since you have to weigh the long term impact of his play against passing up drafting at a severe need position the lack of which played a large role in this season's under-performance), but it's certainly possible that the pick was a mistake for us.

The success of a franchise has everything to do with how they manage the salary cap and draft picks.
If you want to see a well managed franchise look at New England they just won the division again after we were all laughing at them before the season started "Gronks out, Hernandez in jail, Welker in Denver"
We thaught we were going some where Patriots damaged, Promising young QB.
And the Dolphins are still swiming in circles
I want my team managed better.

Most of the dolphins fans heads would have exploded if we did that. I doubt that a high pick OL would have made that much of a difference this year with this line.

The problem is Sturgis is our most productive rookie! When high picks like Taylor, Jordan and Davis rarely see the field and are often injured it creates a void that they were suppose to fill.

It's not like this years rookie OL have been really impressive. Besides, I think going into the season, the team thought we were ok at OL. Especially after signing Clabo. Note, everybody on these boards were excited to sign Clabo too

The pick of Jordan, although not what I would have done, is not the reason that our OL struggles with pass rush. We had the opportunity to bolster the OL, but we pick only one so-so OL in the draft.

you guys just wait til the off-season when the real mess ireland created by selling out for this season is exposed. then watch as he tries to fix it through the draft and FA, both of which he's been historically bad at.
