His 6.6 yards per attempt is about as low as it gets for starting quarterbacks. Any great or even very good quarterback will have a yards per attempt above 7. When you're only averaging 6.6 y/a after this large of a sample, its proof of a very conservative approach and an unwillingness or inability to hit on big plays down the field. I am a Tannehill supporter, but I think this is an issue that should not be overlooked.

his YPA is considerably higher than it was the first 3 weeks.

/thread.

No the issue in my eyes is the defence giving up big plays especially late in games! There could be at least a couple of games we could have won if the D holds!

My issue with him is that I hear he wears blue shoes and I frankly just don't like blue shoes...

I love Tannehill. He is a bright spot on this team and for the future of this franchise. He does need to work on his deep ball, but there are probably 20+ teams that would love to have him. He is our franchise QB.

So your issue with Tannehill is that he can't hit the deep ball.

7.4 in the last 8 games. I think we can all agree his first 3 games were not great and he has significantly improved since then.

It's called Defense dude. If Miami could have got one more 1st down and keep Aaron Rogers off the field, who had a plus 7 average we would have won the game. Oh same thing for the Detroit game too. Outplayed by Rogers, and Stafford, just sayin man.

Outplayed by Rodgers isn't exactly a bad thing. That's pretty much every other QB.

As far as Stafford, the Pats held them to 9 points. Why couldn't our great defense do that? Also convenient how you didn't bring up the Broncos game where the defense looked like a high school team against an NFL team.

My issue with THill is that he's smart, good looking, married to a hottie and is the starting QB for my beloved Fins and I'm not. Seriously dude? I hear playing in traffic is real challenging

If you guys don't think yards per attempt is an important stat for quarterbacks then you just don't know a thing about football. Its actually probably the most important stat behind wins and losses. Its not a nitpick - 6.6 is a poor number. If he wants to be on the next level, he needs to improve in that area - that's all i am saying.
