From Peter King's Monday Morning Quarterback column:
I want to be able to get my dander up and tell Dungy to do what the fans would want, what the game would love and what, quite frankly, every person associated with football except Indy's foes down the stretch and the '72 Dolphins want to see.

Okay, I know there's nothing really that bad about this particular quote... but making assumptions like this about the '72 Dolphins is unfortunately close, I think, to the opinion you occasionally hear that goes "I hope the Colts do go undefeated... just so the '72 Dolphins can't have their party."

I believe many people fundamentally misunderstand the '72 Dolphins celebration: the aren't celebrating someone else losing, they're celebrating how special it is to have been a part of an undefeated team. Should the Colts go undefeated this year, why couldn't the '72 Dolphins throw the biggest party yet... inviting all the newest members of the undefeated season club?

It's too bad the timing of the champagne-popping party irks some people... at this point, I think graciously adding more members to their club is the only way the '72 Dolphins will get some critics off of their backs and cast the event as it is: a celebration of a significant event in NFL history.

I KNOW I'm one of the few, if not the only person that wouldn't mind seeing the Colts go undefeated. I wasn't alive in 1972, let alone old enough to care about the Dolphins, so that undefeated season, while cool and all, doesn't mean squat to me. As far as I'm concerned the Dolphins have never made it to the Superbowl...since I've been watching anyway. I've always liked the Colts and see them as a classy team with a classy coach that's fun to watch and the fact that we've owned the Colts and Manning for the most part helps too. Something about them makes me pull for them (it's not like it's a Brian Billick or Mike Martz led team here). Now, if the Dolphins were Superbowl contenders this year, of course I'd be pulling for Indy to lose out, but seeing as we're rebuilding for the future without much hope of the postseason, I say go Colts. Even if they go 16-0, they still have to win the Superbowl to be put there with the '72 Dolphins.

People have been hating on the Dolphins for a long time saying that every year. That they hope some team goes undeafeted. I just don't pay attention to it any more. If a team does do it good on them but I just don't see it happening. But I still would like to see Peyton win the SB this year and I hope NE never goes back to the SB ever.

The weird thing is the fact that if the colts go undefeated it doesn't take away from the 1972 dolphins.

Plus it is not like they are Calvin Murphy, jumping up and down and celebrating when The basketball player formerly known as Chris Jackson missed his final freethrow.

The record is theres no matter how many teams go undefeated.

I have Edgerin James on my Fantasy league and will be in the playofss those last weeks, PLEASE at least attempt to go all the way!!!!!

I AM GOING TO ASK THIS QUESTION , HOW WOULD FIN FANS REACT IF BRIAN GRIESE WAS TO COME BACK AND WE WERE TO GO UNDEFEATED AND MAKE IT TO A SUPER BOWL ?

I would go and kiss the first beautiful lady cop and slap her on the rump and then throw a huge part that would make the new year's eve party look like wanstedt's press confrence.
