learning the defensive scheme in Minnesota, along with trying to win the starting right defensive end spot on the team.

Vikings | Still Learning - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
21:05 PT: Kevin Seifert reports for the Star Tribune Minnesota Vikings DE Lorenzo Bromell is still trying to learn the team's defensive scheme as he battles DE Lance Johnstone for the starting job at right end. Right now, he remains on the second team behind Johnstone. The Vikings would like to reach the point where Bromell and Johnstone are splitting time at the position. Defensive line coach George O'Leary and coach Mike Tice said the competition between Bromell and Johnstone will continue until the final pre-season game, which, Bromell said, "I try not to worry about."

Thanks man. I like you're sig by the way. People may not realize it, but that's the way it is and always will be.;)

we are better off without bromell and mixon... they had their chance last year...we cant pay all of our guys on defense...i think we upgraded at de...getting burnett and j.williams to go along with d.bowens and ogunelye, we are in good shape...

I agree with you jd13 in that I believe that fin fans are going to be pleasantly surprised with our new DE's. The pass rush will improve vastly from last year and don't be surprised to see one of the above DE's get at least 10 sacks this year.;)

I think Williams will be worth it on passing downs when he switches inside to defensive tackle and rushes the passer like he did against the Titans.

Burnett hasn't done anything but get injured.

David Bowens has greatly improved his ability to stop the run and may win the starting job at LDE over Jay Williams...

While Adewale Ogunleye all the sudden may win the 3rd down passrush end specialist duties away from Rob Burnett, who is still injured.

Bromell is a good guy if you want to lose 15 yards.
amen

he had been easily replaced by Wally and D Bo now need to see if Mixon and DG will as easily replaced

I like Jay Williams as a situational passrusher. I don't know if Rob Burnett has shown me anything yet in that role, but his opportunities have been limited. Unfortunately we won't even be able to see if he makes an impact on Thursday, unless you live in the Miami area. I live in Tampa and have the sunshine network and hoped they'd be showing the game on tape delay but I'm not sure they will be.
