us phin fans into Ronnie lovers and Rickys lovers. It is just kind of funny to see something so good become a debate. You can tell by my name who I think is better. I am sure the debate about who will start next year will be the main topic on finheaven. I personally think Ronnie will start because with a year under his belt Ronnie can become a great back. Keep in mind Ronnie is a better blocker and better in the pass game. Ronnie is the complete package. We used too much money on him for him to be a back-up.

Might wanna change the title of the thread ... I clicked here thinking Ricky got traded or something of that sort

For me, it's a bit early to be declaring him the best back in the league (although you're completely entitled to your opinion). I think of the best back in the league being the back with most value to his team and the back who is most responsible for that team winning games. Especially important games.

Going along my line of thinking (which I'm sure plenty of people wouldn't agree with), Ronnie Brown hasn't had the opportunity to cement himself as the best back in the league yet. I'm not saying it won't happen, just that I couldn't call him that yet (and, then again, I didn't).

right now ricky is better than ronnie.

who knows maybe later on once ronnie's career is more developed, he might overtake ricky, but who knows??????

Absolutely. No doubt. Ricky IS better than Ronnie. People are WANTING Ronnie to be better because he was our number 1 pick and because of the lack of trust in Ricky. But in my opinion, if people were totally honest with themselves, they'd admit that, right now, Ricky is the better of the two.

Maybe in the run game Ricky is better but Ronnie is a better blocker and better in the pass game so that gives him the edge right now

I don't think that those who are in favor of keeping RW (unless, perhaps, the 'Phins get good value for him in trade) have anything against RB. Rather, they think that a two-headed beast (R&R) is just more dangerous than a one-headed one (especially if one of those heads gets injured).

It reminds me alot of the Ronnie/Caddy thing... Immediatly people hated on Caddy because they loved Ronnie and visa versa...

Now it is repeating with R&R... People are hating on Ronnie because they love Ricky and visa versa...

make the madness stop...

As i see it Ricky is a solid piece of our actual scheme, in order to UPGRADE our offensive power Saban must keep both powerfull runners, our QB quest will be limited because our coaches won't split parts with Ricky. Williams will wear 34 in Miami unless a proved milestone like any QB named Manning or a top 5 pick in the draft in exchage for Ricky and our 16th pick comes to town (none of that will happen).
So keep in mind that Saban will trade many things but Ricky, because one of his greatest goals was to buid a solid running unit during 2005. If you look for the biggest difference between our 2004 and 2005 stats, you'll find running yards as the item.
Maybe if somehow Saban deals Ricky in order to get his QB to build a solid passing unit during 2006, that surely will mark the rest of Saban coaching age, as Feeley did with Wanny.
I have a felling that Saban will trade something but Ricky to "recover" his original QB: Rohan Davey. Read that name with care because many of us were watching elsewhere, but Saban knows the kid and the kid knows Saban. So keep that in mind dolfans, this offseason we will trade something with Arizona to have a nice 2006 QB and perhaps we will find the real answer.

i believe ricky will sadly be traded in the offseason.he just got so much more playing time then ronnie towards the end of the year meaning we are showcasing him:(

This must be thread 72134324 on this subject but IMO Ronnie performed better for the Dolphins last year and is better right now. I dont think either one was truly given the best opportunity to show what they can do so we have to make conclusions from what we did see. So regarding your comments...its not absolute, there is some doubt because its just your opinion and it definitely not unanimuos here.
