We really do need to win the toss and defer until the 2nd half - I've lost count of the number of times I have seen NE score in the final 2 minutes of a half, and then receive the ball and go straight down to score at the start of the 3rd. Those 14 point swings kill teams off.

Hopefully ladyluck will be on our side. Really excited by this game - fins up!
 
Yeah, but we should go up there and set the tone. When the ump turns to us and says "what do you want to do?", we just respond (with a bit of a gunslinger drawl...)

"It don't make a sh$t! let them pick..." then turn and walk away....
 
I completely disagree vs the Pats on the road... You can not give the Patriots a chance to play with the lead the whole game.
 
What happened last year? Also that same decision bit Dan Campbell in the ass.

You are completely wrong. The Pats are masters of working the clock to get the possession to end the half. A 14 point swing without the ability to respond is way worse than having them with the ball first. We are notoriously slow starters. Getting the ball first for us is a wasted possession.
 
getting the ball first is for fast starters and potent offenses. We are the opposite...play to our strength which is D unless it's after the first qtr where we can't get out of our own way.
 
each time we give NE the ball first they end up scoring a TD and that sets the tone
 
Sort of depends on the health status of our defense. Hopefully will not be missing all those players this week.
