sean salisbury said he wont get it b/c the team wont make the playoffs. kinda true b/c thats hwy he dindt get it in 2002. :(

This is an individual award and should have nothing to do with the team record. One person can't make a whole team win games. JT doesn't throw or catch. He doesn't return kicks. He's the best at what he does when it comes to defense.

Sean salisbury is a J**kA**...Take everything he says with a grain of salt...I think he is one of the most inaccurate people on the entire espn crew...

Lol..God he's a joke...He sucked when he played and he stills sucks

Just ask Dan Marino what he thinks of him...LOL

Very true. It makes no sense to me why a team's standing should have anything to do with an individual performance. But, for some reason, voters take that into account. Look at any MVP vote, Heisman vote, etc.

It is an individual award but the thinking is if the guy is so valuble why didn't his team make the playoffs. Collin Cowherd called JT the most unblockable player in the NFL on his show today.

I agree with everyone here, but look at Superbowl MVP's. They always go to the team that is the winner.

thats because usually superbowls are are blowouts...only a few in the past have been close, the majority of them have been blowouts

Hate to say it folks, but Salisbury is right. Look at Urlacher last year. He wasn't the best defensive player in the league. But his team was the best defensive TEAM in the league, thus, he got the award. Usually, this award goes to the best player on the best defense, or very close to that scenario. Heck, Shawne Merriman was suspended for cheating and will most likely finish in the top 3 or 4 in voting. Why? Because he is good and his team is winning.

In order for JT to win it, I think he would have to continue to have the defensive dominance he has had over the past six games, over the course of the next three. He will most likely need about 15 sacks and for Miami to win out to have a shot.

If Taylor continues to be remarkable he'll win it.

Players and Coaches should all that matter in the voting.
