There are many who think Wanny should have left Jay in vs. TEN, because we were only down 7-0. The following is my theory on why he pulled him. If you follow my (and Wanny's) logic, you will see why Wanny did what he did, and why it was the right move. To be honest, at least according to Wanny's F'd up adgenda, he played it perfectly, and the move made total sense. This is what I think Wanny's thought process was:

If he leaves Jay in and Jay continues to flounder, Wanny, who is already on the hot seat, is in trouble with Wayne, the fans, the players, his assistants, etc., and there would be no chance of him getting away with allowing Jay to start again.

And if he leaves Jay in and Jay pulls out an ugly win, and then Wanny continues to let him start based on that ugly win, he is again in trouble with Wayne and everyone else who wants a QB change, and he is just digging his own hole while prolonging the inevitable promotion of AJ... and if he waits too many games to bring AJ in, and then AJ does well, everyone (including Wayne, the fans, etc.) would be like "What's your problem, Wanny? Why didn't you start him sooner?"

Sooooooo, if he brings AJ in for the 2nd half and he tanks, he still has an opportunity to start Jay again down the road because he didn't leave him in too long to make himself look any worse than he already had in the 1st half.

And if AJ pulls out the win, Wanny looks like a genius, and Jay is done.

What actually happened was that AJ looked pretty good, much better than Jay, but didn't get the win. So Wanny played it perfectly. He'll start AJ this week, and if it doesn't work, he'll trot Jay back out there... which is only possible because he didn't leave him in there the whole game vs. TEN to make himself look 100% incapable of leading this team anywhere but to a shutout.

That's why he made the QB change at the half.

Now, do I agree with all of this? Not really. Feeley should have been starting vs TEN, no questions asked, and if he had started, all of this would be a non-issue because we'd be 1-0.

Whew!

Make Sense?

I'm curious what others think...

I'm just relieved AJ is starting this week. If Jay hadn't been pulled after that dismal performance the fans alone would have been furious.
