And it ain't over now.

(Yes, I know the Germans didn't do it. If you don't know what I'm talkin about watch a movie fer Godssakes. )

Look, it's bad times, no doubt, but there is no need for idiotic ranting. The stupidest things I have read so far today, in no particular order....

1. Fire Nick.
Oh my lord. Fireing a coach after one or two years is just not the way to run a franchise. That is so freaking nausiatingly reactionary and childish. If he fails, he fails. I'm not very happy with the results this season. He has to have at least this and one more season for judgement. Some people wanted to fire a very good player...Played for the Patriots back in the day. He had some BAD defeats, and, people called for his head but, he eventually led them to ultimate vicory. His name was G. Washington, and, he was eventually president  C'mon people. Are you 18y/o?

2. Dante Sucks.
He doesn't. He is right now playing unsure of himself. Who wouldn't be? Our oline is really, really putrid. Does he hold onto the ball to long? Yes. Even my wife would sit there beside me and, after 3 seconds she'd be..."GET RID OF THE BALL!" Right now, like it or not, DC gives us the best chance to win, not Joey.

3. Trade To Get Gus Back.
 Oh my god.

4. Fire/Bench (This or that person)
Look, you don't react to defeats, as bad as these are, by just fireing everyone. all that does is create more turbulence, which is part of why we are so bad right now. Changes needed? Yes. Wholesale slaughter? No.

The bottom line of this is we all need to separate fandom from reality. The reality is we do have playmakers on both sides of the ball. ZT, JT on defense...Will Allen really impressed me today too. He's a tough little guy. TD will be ok once he's back in form. Our problem is at the Safety position there. Our Dline is solid enough. On offense, we have RB, CC, MB, WW, and DC (At least). Our root problem stems from the complete garbage play of the OL. They are bad, and, no matter how good Hauk is, he can't create chemestry when you have a different lineup, by necessity, every week. Once the OL is shored up, we'll be ok.

I saw some good ideas today, granted, situationally driven....I liked the plays that were made to get RB out into space. They are trying to feed him, but, like it or not, our Oline ISN'T going to knock people off the ball. The best use of RB is NOT running him to a defensive takle two yards deep in the backfield for three plays and then punting...It just isn't. I even saw one or two running plays nicely desigend to get Ronnie in space. The RB option was AWFUL...I was screaming up at the lights when I saw it develop...Couple that with that dumb pulling gaurd play in pre season and, that spells "wrong". Mularky is not calling good plays right now when he needs to and, that must be adressed. Part of his playbook is gone, though since out line can not impose it's will on an opponant.

Bottom line fellahs, Saban just needs to look at the good things and, try to tweak them to make them better. Look at the bad things too, and, fix them. Screaming "Everbody panic" and running around like we're in Pee-wee's playhouse is simply not the answer. I had, from the begining thought we'd wind up 8-8 and, still feel that way. Regression in the second year of rebuilding is not an unusual thing.

They dont have a shot of making the playoffs in the AFC

Thus this season is a failure

Sure they have a chance. You have a chance until you are matchematically eliminated. That is not a factual statement. It is opinion based on emotion, and, that is not fact. It is simply opinion. Somone else could have an opinion that we'll run the table and, get a wildcard shot....That would hold an equal ammount of factual validity.

Season over, so soon

Good thing you aren't the head coach of an NFL team. Tossing in the towel after a couple bad losses. You can claim defeat as yours if ya like. I'm not giving up.

Agreed with the contents of your post, but right now, it's ringing a little hollow. We really should've won this game. Culpepper played better, especially in the second half. Our defense was clearly focused. But then Booker slips and falls and doesn't make a catch, and Welker slips and falls and doesn't make the two-point conversion, and we lose a game to the friggin' Texans.

I want to tell myself that we played like winners despite the loss, but... it was the friggin' Texans.

I really believe that our season is over. The schedule only gets harder--much harder--from here. New England, Chicago, Minnesota, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Indy... if we can't beat the friggin' Texans, how can we beat the teams we play down the stretch? How can we even hope to beat the damned Jets, who forced Indy and New England into some very close games?

As a Bills homer once said....THAT'S why they play the games. Let's play and then decide when it's over, when we are eliminated. Do I believe we are goin tot he playoffs? No. However, you NEVER, EVER give up. 99% of people on this site loved Saban before the season, now, he's getting thrown under the bus? C'mon now. The Red Sox didn't give up and, they won the World Series they had no buisness winning. Remember the miricle Mets? Geeze, defeatism may fit like a warm blanket now, but, mentally tough people keep fighting untill all is lost.

I'm really depressed now too. We should have wom the game. We had a chance all the way up until the last play. The ball isn't bounceing right and guys aren't makeing plays. It's not because they are not capable, it's becasue they just aren't which is not as bad as it could be.
