A few weeks ago when he and his family took some vacation time before the start of training camp, Adam Gase flew out of Fort Lauderdale’s airport. And, like the rest of us, he went to a ticket counter, then through a security line and eventually loitered at the gate waiting for his flight. no one recognized the Miami Dolphins head coach.
..
Earlier this offseason he and his wife Jennifer were shopping at a local Wal-Mart. (Can you imagine Don Shula or Bill Belichick shopping at Wal-Mart?)

Anyway, Gase was wearing a Dolphins T-shirt. He might as well have been wearing a glowing neon sign that read “I’m the Miami Dolphins’ coach.”
But no stopped him. No one stared. He doesn’t think anyone even glanced at him

Nice that he still has a normal life, quite surprised though!

Loved this comment from Armando

But coming from someone who covered Sparano and Saban -- and every Dolphins coach before and since, except for George Wilson -- I’m thinking many of the pitfalls and obstacles that befell those other guys won’t factor with Gase.

In Gase we trust

If his choice in Burke proves worthy, I can fully get on board with this sentiment. Otherwise, it looks to be a faulty one-sided team like the one he was a part of in Denver.

Year two will be a tough one for him. It's almost no win unless of course we win and win a lot. I hope that's the case with Gase.

If we win the div and go deep in the playoffs he'll be recognized alright. Better buckle up if this occurs but if we lose more he'll have to shop elsewhere.

Year 2 isn't make or break for Gase. Year 3 maybe

I agree. Gase has 3-4 years easily b/c of his turnaround of the team last year and our playoff appearance. It was quite remarkable.
That's why I am behind Gase. What he did last year was something I've never seen on the Dolphins in the post Shula era

I've heard the personel decision issues like overpaying Branch, not finding a good enough Guard, etc. Those are valid criticisms but a young head coach is going to make mistakes

2008 we went from 2-4 to 11-5.

I would be willing to bet good money that we play much better this year but have a worse record

Will be interesting to see the reaction around here if that matters

Winning matters. It's all that matters in this league. There's no way around that.

.500 or below there will be a cause for concern. I don't foresee that, but it's the NFL.

K. Schedule matters aswell when it comes to wins.
