Anyone catch Clemons trying to get Jones into position and he didn't understand so he just waved off Clemons instructions and blitzed. I wonder what that busted coverage would have netted had the pocket held up for Dalton. Just an observation. I can't believe that Jones would ad lib and blitz though. Maybe I didn't see it correctly?

I saw it. Communication seemed like a problem for the defense.

My think is that if you don't know the play, why risk it especially with Green tearing it up and then take it upon yourself to blitz? Ironically the olineman that picked up Jones was on the side of Wake and could have helped result in the sack.

If the player is completely lost on the play, might as well blitz. Fortunately Wake came through for us.

Coyle was calling some strange blitzes much of the 4th, literally leaving some guys with absolutely nobody to cover at all.

WR ran a drag route over the middle and was wide open. If wake didn't get to him, Dalton checks down and gets the first down as no one was in position to stop the play if completed.

Who knows what would have happened after that, but all I know is that Wake stepped up big and saved the day because that was going to be a first down if Dalton has any more time to throw.

I liked the design of that play where RJ Stanford was matched up on Green.

I was like..."oooooh ****!" when the announcer said it....Apparently Dalton saw it too, then whoever it was
playing OLB on that side buzzed to the zone while Stanford backed off. THAT was nice.

saw the same thing, jones literally had no idea what to do so he just blitzed. unbelievable.

yep...otherwise youre just standing there not covering anyone like phillip wheeler

Not sure if you guys remember this last season, but there were anonymous reports that players really would get ticked off by Reshad Jones cause he would blow a lot of coverage's and leave others hanging in bad situations. We're lucky this wasn't another one.

You never know guys. Maybe Jones new exactly what he was doing and Carroll was trying to tell him something that was wrong and Jones was like screw that I know what the play is

I did think that was a good play. Stanford wasn't just in man either, and there was actually a safety over the top if need be as well. I thought it was great bait to distract Dalton while actually shutting out his best target, and even though he made the best play in the game, Grimes was also giving up his fair share too against a beast like Green.
