A few years ago the Dolphins had one of the oldest defense's in the nfl. Next year if Poole, Roth, Rodrique and Manuel Wright start and we draft a linebacker who can come in and start we will have 8 out of 11 starters on defense who are under 25 years old and with Tillman only being 28 we will probably have one of the youngest defense's in the whole league.

possible future 'fins DL: Rodrique Wright, Manny Wright, Frederick Evans, Matt Roth, Kevin Vickerson

I wouldn't get my hopes up on that. IMO 3 of them will be career back-ups.

We can't really bank on Wright, Evans, Roth and Vickerson to all step in and start. IMO, there will only be one departure on the DL next year, and that'll be Traylor. I don't see Carter or Holliday leaving for 2 or 3 more years.

not untill after some rings

Look!!

Is not only how young our D is becoming, but how good it will be. We are going to destroy oposition from now and years to come. An O in the helm of DC and this D unit, with the Coaching staff that is the envy of all the NFL. We are just witnesing the born of a DINASTY and is going to be ugly and nasty for every team in this leage, they will love to move to another leage, like Europe or Canada:lol:

GO DOLPHINS!! :dolphins:

This team is only getting better and will be great for years to come.

It's not too surprising seeing as how in his post season press conference, Coach Saban's two biggest priorities for the post season was getting a top flight QB and getting younger on defense. I'd say, mission accomplished.

From day one of the new regime the defense getting younger was one of the goals to be achieved. First blend in fresher talent around the cornerstones already there. And then have replacements step in as starters for guys like Traylor who will be gone soon enough. We really struck gold with Chan C coming in like gangbusters right out of the gate.

The blueprint is set and the foundation being laid down. Compared to the enemies we are better set for long term. The Jets lost their best defender (when healthy) in Abraham during the offseason and they are re-building AGAIN on D (I don't care what Jets fans and NY media in mad denial claim cause they are), the Bills were overrated and now have to re-align on D AGAIN, and the Pats keep getting older. Our D will return to dominance- the way it suppose to be!

yeha ive also noticed this. there are only 4 players on our enitre active roster that are aged 30 or over. I think the newest trend in the nfl is youth. maybe not starters, but having youth in general. as for what you said about all those young players starting, it prob wont happen (maybe poole or roth if holliday or JT is injured knock on wood). but we will have them later on when we need them to step in. saban deffinetly undertsnad that we need to win next year, but wants to establish a winning team for years to come.

zach thomas, jason taylor, and kevin carter will be the only vets instilled in this defense for the next 3 years or so. we are slowly putting more youngsters into starting positions. channing crowder, travis daniels, and jason allen are all 1st or 2nd year starters. with the addition of a sick olb and possibly SS and the emergence of one of the wrights as our DT, well have 5 or 6 3rd year or less players by next season starting on our defense. will poole and matt roth have potential(only have played a little bit) and could end up starters, but looking at the guys ahead of them and likelihood well draft players at CB and DE (as well as olb SS) theyll have a dificult time starting.

as for offense, we need to get younger on the oline and pick up a stud lineman or two. also, booker will be getting the boot soon with hagan steppin up and its always good to have young receivers. brown, mcmichael will hold their positions for years and cpep/harrington can man the qb for a solid 5-6 years until we need to spend a 1st on another qb.

THINGS ARE LOOKING SWELL :)
