Its Game Week! Dolphins vs Jags Official Thread

So we are now 7 days away from our first preseason game. We're playing the Jags, right?

So this will be the topic for the game as it doesent make sense to make multiple threads for a preseason game.

How long do you think our starters will play? Will Chad Henne get most of the snaps? Will we see any wildcat? Who should we look out for in the Jags? Who's going to the game? Im planning on it.

This has been a LONG offseason so I am really pumped up about the game
 
I'm guessing Pennington will only play the first series, maybe 2. Same for most all of our starters. Not sure how long the O-line will play. Im hopeing we swap Pennington and Henne and leave the starters on the field for at least 1 series.

As for the jags....jones-drew Im sure wont play more than 2 series. They have tre Thomas in at LT. Torry Holt is the only WR worth mentioning.

Their D-line is not what it was without Stroud, and to me their LB corps is suspect. I would run it right at them. They have R. Mathis and some guy playing the other corner spot, I would imagine there will be some nice holes in the secondary to throw to.

Shawn Murphy vs. John Henderson could get ugly though

Pretty impressive how much you know about other teams considering youre in Irak. Stay safe bro!
 
We're not a Parcells coached team, but Sparano is of his ilk and Parcells always used to play his starters a lot during the pre-season. To tell you the truth i can't even remember if Sparano did that last season, but if he does it might make pre-season games actually worth watching.
 
Im very interested in watching Pat White play along with some of our younger WR's. I don't think we'll see him in anything fancy with the wildcat, but just wondering to see how he's coming along.

Just as curious about Henne as well.

i think there's too many players at the back end of the roster that need to be evaluated to play the starters much. obviously, risk of injury is the biggest issue.
 
If its anything like last yr the O-line played the first half in just about every game if I recall....as far as Murphy VS Henderson....I have a sneaking suspicion it may be part of Sparanos plan...if he fails, you give Thomas the nod, if he handles him, you keep rolling.

I'm not actually in Iraq anymore, I just happened to be when i signed up for the site.

I make a habit of studying football teams...one thing that will interest me is Groves and Hardy, who the jags drafted last season in a sad attempt to develor a pass rush. With a yr under their belts I want to see if they can be effective or if the jags struck out twice.

yeah, possible. there aren't many players who are as big of a test as Henderson.
 
I have faith in Murphy, like a lot of college lineman, he just didnt have the strength to take on NFL defenders. With a yr of working out, he looks ready....we shall see.

I wonder if the head coaches get together before the game to bargin out the intensity Level? Becuz more than anything I think tony wants this just be a exercise of evaluations with no injuries....
 
And do they prepare for this game like a regular season game? To prepare the coaching staff as well for the regular season?
