Alright guys, what is our plan on offense? I say we run the ball straight down their throats. Keep New England's D on the field as long as possible, because face it, the last thing we want is for Brady to pick apart our very weak secondary. If we pound the ball down their throats long enough, we can take those chances down field where I think Frerotte will connect on a couple. If we can't put some points on the board against this weak defense, I am going to be very very disapointed...

The only way New England is going to stop our running game is if they get up on us early. If they go up 10-14 points on us, then we're in serious trouble.

Outside of an early lead I don't see any possible way they'll be able to contain our rushing attack.

With Starks out now, my guess is we are going deep a few times, which is good. Its not like gus has been throwing Int's all season. I think it would be healthy to try and get this passing game going a little bit for the sake of this entire team. Then pound it. Just stop the needless end arounds that just present penalties anyways.

But I do say we need to lay the lumber and put the Pats into deep misery. I think the time is ripe for such a happening.

I agree. If we can't get our passing game going against New England, who is boasting the worst secondary in the league, then I'm not sure it's ever going to happen.

The fact of the matter is, this New England defense is horrendous, and we should be able to take advantage of that.

NE is going to do everything they can to stop our running game. They will bring a lot of unique DL alignments and blitzes, along with 8 in the box to mess up our running game.

But we still need to run the ball. We also need to pass on critical downs, but do so out of run formations! Use play action passing!

I know there will be a temptation to spread them out because they have a lot of weak DBs, but I believe the Pats will bring a quick and effective blitz if we go 3-4 WRs and they will get to Gus.

We should test them at times by spreading them out, but that shouldn't be relied on a lot. It can lead to INTs and forced fumbles if the pats do indeed get to Gus. And we just can not afford those kinds of mistakes in this game.

So, I would run it right at them, use play action passing, and only spread them out (use shifts to do this) sometimes. Keep the ball as long as possible so Brady doesn't have many chances against our weak secondary.

I can't believe there isn't a single person in this message board that feels Miami is going to cream this stupid *** team. New England is 1-4 at Miami under Belicheck and that one win came on one long bomb that one player gave up. I'm telling everyone now, Miami WILL win this game!!! Prediction, Miami 23-7.

Being a die hard dolphin fan and watching the defense all year, id say its safe to say that "I dont see any possible way we will be able to contain their passing game"

Now hear me out, no the Pats arent the Colts but the dolphins did have problems containing Crumpler, Finnerman and Rody white last week.

Now this week we're asking our defense to contain Troy Brown, David Givens, Daniel Graham, Bethel Johnson and Deion Branch.

And not to mention theyre running game isnt to shabby either and with this being a key divisional matchup im most certain that Dillon will carry the ball 75-85% of the time they run the ball.

I still think the pats have the advantage honestly, they can do both very well which is run and pass, where miami probably runs the ball better but has not found its passing game yet.

Im hoping like hell the fins win this but lets be honest, if we do win it will be an upset IMO.

Did I say anything differently? Our secondary is pathetic, the Patriots might be the only team in the league who's secondary is more putrid than ours. I don't think we can contain Brady, he'll create some plays.

Dillon on the other hand is hurting. I don't fear him at all, and to be quite honest, I'm not even sure he's 60% healthy. With the way our defense has played the running game this year, I gotta believe he's going to be close to a non-factor. I EXPECT the Patriots to come out and play a one-dimensional game. I just pray we can stop it, but it scares the hell out of me.

i hope your right and I could see it happening if R & R get going strong. They just had a short week and now the florida sun is going to pelt there dark jerseys. I hope Linehan has some good stuff planned.

i actually wouldnt say our DB's are putrid. I would say we blitz too many bodies and leave them to fend for themselves alot. It certainly was that way against Vick, which to me is a no no that early in the ballgame.

good points all.

all the cliches of keeping a dangerous passing game off the field by running the ball is a reality.

even if the fins are down 10-0, i think you still run it and run it again, 'cause it will pay dividends later in the game when the D is sick of tackling ronnie.

you may be down a score but you are in a position to dictate, all the while keeping you D resting and giving them time to make adjustments
