We have a good selection of Running Backs..

#1 Ronnie Brown
#2 Ricky Williams
#3 Patrick Cobbs
#4 Lex Hilliard
#5 Kory Sheets

Now, how do we do to meke them fit in our offense? Every single one of them has different characteristics, but the one that stands out would be Kory Sheets Speed..

Most of them will be used in Special teams, but I think they could be a whole lot more helpful participating in the offense..

any thoughts???

They all won't make the 53 man roster in 2010. In fact, there is a chance one of the running backs on the final roster isn't even on the team yet. I don't think Lex or Kory make the final team.

I'll probably get blasted for this but I would cut Patrick Cobbs first. I know everyone here loves him but I don't really know why. He was terrible as a KR and I really don't think he did anything on offense that Hilliard couldn't do. Sparano loves the guy though so he won't be going anywhere no matter how good or bad he is.

I like all 5 backs but if i had to pick 1 that would be cut I would pick Lex.

Too many RB's in theory, but look at their contracts:

Ronnie Brown - potential FA this offseason
Ricky Williams - 1 year left on contract
Patrick Cobbs - 1 year left on contract
Lex Hiliard - 2 years left on contract
Kory Sheets - not sure, but its a minimum contract

If they resign Ronnie longterm, u know for a fact next season:

1. Ronnie Brown
2. Ricky Williams

I don't think both Cobbs and Hilliard will be on this team, but anything is possible. I know we like Sheets speed, but this kid was undrafted and cut from 2 teams, lets not expect him to be the next Chris Johnson now. I think we have to keep Hilliard, but I know we will be shopping either him or Cobbs.

im really afraid of letting Lex go, i like what he brings and could be a very good backup IMO. with Ricky retiring after this season, keeping him is a MUST imo.

Lex is a perfect fit for this offense, and he KNOWS the offense.

We would be IMO crazy to let him go.

Don't be surprised if the FO drafts another RB, maybe even with a high draft pick.

I love Ronnie, but sadly injuries are an issue.
Ricky is one (more) and done.
Cobbs is nice but not going to be a featured back.
Lex the jury is still out - (can he carry the load?)
Sheets has loads of potential, but too early to tell.

So yeah, don't be shocked.

Ronnie is safe. Ricky is safe. Cobbs is the best STer. Lex is a good ST and can be a replacement for ricky. Sheets is nothing special IMO, but has the best speed of all our RB's.

we will carry 4 next Year IMO 4th spot will come down to who performs better between

Cobbs
sheets
Hilliard

i gotta agree with you but i think out of those 3 the best one with upside has to be sheets. i do hope that we could trade one of those RB's to a team like washington who needs RB help like crazy.

LEX can be traded for a draft pick.

well obviously a lot depends on ronnie and his situation, but him and ricky would be safe, Cobbs is probably safe too because he does all the little things right and lex progressed this year with the more time he saw. Sheets has a lot of ground to make up.

Sheets had a carry against Pittsburg didnt he?...at the start of the 2nd half i think it was, he got like 4 or 5 yards. Pat White handed it off to him.

i dont get why everyone is so high on sheets. theres a reason he stayed on the practice squad. he will probably be on it again next year. lex will stay on the roster.
