People may say this might be just an "UP" and the team has had and will have downs but right now you have to say judging by the recent string of games Miami is a top 10 team in the league and perhaps a top two or three when considering what the future looks like. About the only valid criticism of Philbin is he has some game management issues but I'll take that and be happy with it. He took over a team in shambles and has rebuilt them heavily through youth but has hit on a number of free agents as well. I've been pulled back over to "Pro" Philbin side.

I like him, and I think he did a masterful job of handling the OL distraction last year. I really think he is a good manager of people and good judge of talent. Absolutely no reason to this point that you should want to get rid of him.

Its the halfway point of the season, could we get thru a few more games first before you annoint Philbin?

Great game for the ages, and signs are looking better, but come on.

We've been teased before...

I'm not going to jump on the Philbin wagon until he leads us to a playoff win. If we choke and lose the final two games and earn an early vacation like last year he will deserve to be fired

I'm not a Philbin supporter, but if you can find evidence that he's significantly responsible for the development and evaluation of the talent on the team that is where you will find his value. Personally I ascribe the development to the positional coaches and it's hard for me to give him all the credit for the talent that seemed to underperform in his first two seasons. I personally give more credit to the assistants maximizing the talent out there, but I understand others who feel differently. In our position it's really hard to gauge the impact of a head coach. Philbin hasn't hurt us the last couple weeks, I feel like he was earlier in the season and during his first two seasons at the helm.

I'm not ready to go there yet. I'm still bitter about his playing scared too many times this year and our lack of doing much of anything in the 1st half of most games this year to be pro-Philbin. I'm not anti-Philbin at this point though and I do give him (and the other coaches) major props for having the team focused this week despite his father's passing.

dabeastdabone - You are correct but half of Finheaven will never give Philbin any credit for clearly developing talent, because he doesn't give great rah rah speeches on TV like Rex Ryan. Joe is all about developing a system and not rushing the young players, but many appear to be stepping up.

For what? He still sucks at game management...

the one week he is absent and we crush it. I am not gonna apologize just yet

Wahhhh i guess you wont be one the ones...even though you probably should.

he should apologize for us not being 6-2

Whooooaaaaa hold up now. I'm as excited about this win as anyone but that's way too far. I'm proud of the team and good for philbin but one game doesn't erase the ample evidence that he's an unqualified idiot. We play like this the rest of the year then it's worth reassessing but not yet... not nearly yet.

He needs to get us to the playoffs, but today he did it all right. Kudos to joe for sure. I've been critical, but this was great. Really ****ing great.

After the New England game last year I wanted to believe in him then we lose to the bills and jets. I'm still nervous in a close game like Green Bay he'll pee his pants.
