I am not really sure as to how to post a better thread and I am going to keep trying because I want to be good poster. I want say that I like to use former players andd prop them up just for the heck of it . I am disapointed that we are having a tough time rebuilding and all but i can see sucess around the bend.

here is what I wished that we could achieve .

#1 throw the ball deep more often.

#2 get better on special teams.

#3 bring in more f/a players which we havent done that much.

#4 get Henne some game Experience.

#5 sign a dt and bring in more players especially at cb if possible.

#6 I would like to get Ricky more involved and get Ronnie on a roll.

I am not sure which topics are good topics but i want to post better threads but i could use some insight as to how i can post better .

as to what bothers me .
if fasino and martin are the best weapons in the psassing game then throw to them , as far as I know its not a sin to throw to the te.

- our players need to play angry or with more emotion.
- throw the ball downfield to take pressure off ronnie and ricky.
- most importantly is fix the special teams asap !!

Fasano and Martin aren't the best weapons in the passing game. With how Pennington looks for the TE's a lot and likes to keep his throws inside 20 yards if either of these guys were real "Weapons" they'd be leading the league in receptions right now. What I really don't understand though is why Ronnie isn't getting the ball more in the passing game. We all know he can do some damage there, and I have seen him open on some short routes with just a few yards to go for a 1st down and he doesn't even seem to get looked at.

There's a stat in a separate thread that points out how only a handful of teams have thrown deep more than 5 times thus far this season. I would like to see a few deep throws here and there, but this just isn't a big factor IMO.

#2 get better on special teams.
Agreed. Ginn already helped out in a big way last week.

#3 bring in more f/a players which we havent done that much.
We signed a ton of f/a players this offseason and got Joey Porter two years ago. I think you're way off base here.

#4 get Henne some game Experience.
The guy has been in the league for less than a year and already got some game action against Arizona. You're being unrealistic in my opinion. His time will come. It's just not right now.

#5 sign a dt and bring in more players especially at cb if possible.
A given on both counts.

#6 I would like to get Ricky more involved and get Ronnie on a roll.
We run the ball a lot as it is, but I guess a little more can't hurt.

- our players need to play angry or with more emotion.
How exactly do you quantify that? This is one of those typical fan reactions, which are typically based on the results (in other words, if they win they're "angry and full of emotion" but if they lose they're not). In the NFL, every player plays angry and with emotion on every play. Otherwise, they would get killed. There are some great NFL films pieces that give a close in look at a typical NFL play. They're all angry and excited.

That reminds me of the interview that Parcells did when he spoke about the needs & that there wasn't enough time in the interview to cover all of the spots where they still had needs.

The only area that I am disappointed in is the special teams, especially with the focus that they seemed to place on that in the off-season.

We obviously need to get better guys in the secondary and recieving core.

Tackling would be the other thing, I see way too many guys on D and special teams that are in position to make the play but they don't wrap up and REALLY tackle...

Nothing wrong with your OP.. but I'd disagree with the above. Rome wasn't built in a day, no matter how much we would prefer it was, and building out from inside with 2 future stud DEs is a fine start.

Ain't gonna happen when we're driving the ball with a 5 iron instead of a wood. Ginn's been open more than a few times, including in th end zone no matter how much flack he gets on here. Given this reality, Penny's a good QB for our transitional period, so I have less problems with his surgically accurate dinks and dunks than I thought I'd have at his signing

#2 get better on special teams.
Agreed; I believe the DB we signed to replace crocker, the FO did so with a particular eye toward special teams. Getting Teddy back their on KOs is also a step in the right direction. But this is definitely one of our achilles heels.
#3 bring in more f/a players which we havent done that much.
We've done more than average, but could always do better; IMO I'd rather do less now than mortgage our future and clog our cap space than sign big name free agents like Faneca who are hit or miss and on the downward trajectory of their careers

#4 get Henne some game Experience.
Absolutely, so long as we don't put the game's fate on his shoulders just yet, if we can avoid it.

#5 sign a dt and bring in more players especially at cb if possible.
Definitely primary needs but signing quality FAs in these positions is easier said than done

#6 I would like to get Ricky more involved and get Ronnie on a roll.
Aren't they trying to do this? With the radius around the LOS a bit less congested, it probably would work better against elite defenses like the Ravens. Against average defenses, despite this handicap, they seem to be accomplishing this already.

Both these guys have been pleasantly surprising additions/improvments.

Hello Joey Porter.. ever hear of him? How about Matt Roth?

See above

i do agree we need to throw to the backs more.
