that is what we have been reduced to...

also Huizenga's plea for input didn't play very well in the media.

I found Huizenga's pleas to the media for suggestions troubling, as if from a man who lacks common sense and should know that it simply doesn't play well and will be mocked. The same lack of common sense that allowed Dave Wannestedt to coach for 5 years.

When all is said and done, Jim Bates as coach and Randy Mueller as GM will be fine with me.

p.s. Why don't the Dolphins QB's pump fake and play-action fake like Peyton Manning does for the Colts? 22 coaches, geesh...

What Wayne said made me laugh, I knew the media would be all over that.

Fact is, we shouldn't be a laughing stock, and we shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Arizona and Detroit.

We're the winningest franchise in NFL history. We will hire the right coach [Ken Whisenhunt!], and we will get back on track and become one of the biggest powerhouses in the NFL. We will dominate the AFC East again.

Huizenga is a smart man he realizes the more opinions they get on the situation the better off they will be. I dont think it was a plea for help, I think it was more a feeling of wanting to get as much input as possible to ensure they dont overlook any possible candidates this time. They obviously screwed up with Saban, he listened to JJ when he hired Wannstache...the man just wants to get as many opinions as possible so he can make the right decision this time.

We are the laughing stock of the NFL now. Past history isn't saving us from current debacles.

Unfortunately, Wayne's comment about asking for input makes him sound like a fool, when all he was really trying to do was re-establish communication with the media. Clearly, the damage Saban has done to media relations runs deep, and I think Huizenga is trying to relieve some of the pressure to avoid excessive criticism during the hunt for the new head coach. This is not the time you want the media to be enemies of your organization.

In the end, it was a smart move for him to make the statement, but in the short term, he is going to get butchered for sounding incompetent.

I believe in one way that it was class for WH to say that(because I think he is a nice guy) but in others ways it sounded like he was desperate.

Tony rules... he just says it...

sucks that he's right too...

on Wayne, I was thinking the whole schpeil was to bring the press back into the fold with some love...and they turned on him...
