J.J fined for hit

I remember the helmet flying but not the play exactly.. Was it actually fine-worthy?

No because he completed the pass for 17 yards and did not even appear visibly shaken. To me it appeared he hit his shoulder.

Yeah I get why it was fined, it was a bit unfortunate though; he didn't really target the head. As Lewis threw the ball, he sort of leaned back/fell back so Jenkins just caught his chin instead of what would have been his chest. Hard hit though, I liked Jelani's closing speed on the blitz.

Yeah it was a bad call IMO. Jj was aiming at his chest but the qb ducked down and caught helmet to helmet. Not Jenkins fault. What about the no call from Mario Williams on tanny? Looked like helmet to helmet to me.

back in the day it would've been considered a great hit. these days i think it was worth a fine not cuz of helmet to helmet but cuz JJ lead with his helmet. the target location on lewis was actually really good, totally legal. i think i saw somewhere the fine was for leading with the helmet too so i'm OK w/it. i'm not OK w/tasker screaming to high heaven about it being a helmet-to-helmet hit. had to watch the 4th quarter on mute cuz of that guy.

I'm not even trying to be a homer here or anything, but even though the guy's helmet flew off that really didn't look like a dirty play to me.

The fine seems excessive for a first time player who is on a pretty small contract.

JJ lit him up. Had a running start and drove his shoulder into his chest. Of course the qb bent forward a little but he still didn't hit him in the head. His helmet flew off because that is how hard he was hit. I hope they appeal it because it was an excessive fine.

Jenkins seems like a really quick athletic lb hopefully good for some quality depth down the road as he gains experience and gets a little bigger/stronger (hopefully lol) but ya gotta make sure your hitting the qb around the stomach area to avoid bs calls and fines

You know, I thought this was a good hit. At the time I felt that the QB ducked into the hit.

I remember this play vividly, he didn't touch his head, but since the qb stepped into the hit the force of the collision sent his loose fitting helmet flying. Such bull****.

That's another thing, why is it so common that helmets fly off now. When I played football it took effort just to pull a helmet off with my hands, unbuckled...
