Mike Mayock told one of the local radio guys here that the knee is worse than anticipated, he may possibly need another surgery, and up to two years to recover. He said no longer worth a top ten selection.

Maybe. Maybe not.

But one thing I would bet on is that Mayock makes a lot of side money dished out by organizational personnel and agents in pimping or prodding rumors/players around draft time.

I have a lot of respect for Mayock and value him as one of the better evaluators. In this case, though, medical is not his expertise. He's been given this info. Is it right? Dunno, but this is the first I've seen about "two years to recover."

We can't afford to take a gamble on a first round pick with a big medical question mark!

Sure we can. I'm sorry, but we're not competing this year. If anything, this is the perfect year to take a risk on a guy like Jack

We should remember the curious case of Jay Ajayi, who was said to have no knees left and he dropped big time. Right now he's our starting RB, with no surgeries and the same knees he had last year. I would ten to think this is smoke. Every NFL team has their teams of very competent Drs and everyone of them has poked and prodded this kid. I would defer to them not some talent evaluator.

I doubt he will drop to the second round, but if the knee is that bad I don't want him.

Just have not gotten enough out of our top 20 round 1 picks over the last 3 years.

2013: Dion Jordan - no explanation needed
2014: Juwan James - reached a bit to fill a need and although he gave us a good year in 2014, the injury in 2015 just sucked.
2015: Devante Parker - Dealt with that foot injury for half the season

It makes taking Jack that much harder. You just want somebody to come in there, be healthy and productive.

Im just not buying it. It was a "simple" meniscus tear that was stitched back up ( not even trimmed ). This is all smokescreen. I feel like Miami is the one actually creating this stir to get him to fall. IF he is there at 13 and we dont take him I will be ****ing pissed. Still I dont see him getting passed Jax.

I know every year someone in the draft falls unexpected and later it comes out that they had a red flag whether it be injury or behavior related. I do find it really surprising that his knee is that jacked up from a simple mcl tear.

i seriously doubt mayocks getting bad info there...and hes not one to pass on stuff unless it has legs

ah yes the classic and cliché escape goat....."smokescreen" ....conspiracy. Im so tire of everyone saying smokescreen in every freaking thread. Why would someone make this up? IDK but the same was said about Ajayi last year and it proved to be true.

if this is true it's just another great player being pushed out of the top 10 worsening our golden pick at 13

mayock wouldn't be saying this if it wasn't legit

I expect to see jack fall like a stone tomorrow...
