Jackson and Iggy's 5th year options not getting picked up

Both those things can be true this year.
Im rooting for the guy, I believe he has the physical talent, but his weaknesses were completely over extending on his kickslide thus leaving him very vulnerable to any inside counter moves, and his awareness to pick up other rushers during the chaos of a play.

those are mental and instinctive issues.

He could possibly be signed at a cheaper rate than his option which he definitely don’t deserve. But he’s salvageable. Igbinoghene is completely done here in Miami. Just a matter of when

Only 30% of players who are drafted in the first round end up signing a second contract with the team that drafted them.

So it’s actually a bigger surprise when the option is picked up than when it isn’t.
Those are two different numbers. Players getting options and players resigning are two different things.

For instance this year, so far, 12/32 5th year options have been picked up of the first round draft class. (Obv. 2/32 were ours).

This is admitting without admitting Jackson & iggy were players who had no business being drafted in the first round. A lot of us on finheaven knew these were garbage picks. As long as King Grier doesn’t make this mistake again we’ll be fine.

A less than impressive showing in a critical draft.

Currently, Miami blew that 1st round.

Considering the general consensus on these 2...can we say Grier made up for it with Waddle, Phillips, and Holland?

What percentage of 1st rounders get their 5th year picked up, do you know?
