• Before the Dolphins and every other NFL team adjourned for a six-week vacation, Adam Gase made abundantly clear to us – and his players – that he wanted all of them to return in shape.

And judging from the turnout at respected local trainer Pete Bommarito’s training facility this month, his players are paying attention.

Among those that have been working out this month at Bommarito’s facility: Jarvis Landry, Earl Mitchell, Kenny Stills, Jelani Jenkins, Tony Lippett, Bobby McCain, Chris Jones, Terrence Fede and Isaiah Pead.

“Landry has been our poster boy; been huge for us,” Bommarito said. “I love Earl Mitchell; he’s a machine. I have a soft spot for Bobby McCain; he’s fast and physical. Bobby always had good straight-line speed. He’s [now] playing as fast as his timed speed.”

When they said "...his downfield accuracy wasn’t nearly the same as it had been in the past...", I thought they were going to praise his success in 2015

And where the heck is Jordan Phillips? He needs the work MORE than ANYONE. Does anyone trust him to do it on his own? We'll see what kind of shape he's in at the end of the week.

Weren't there reports he was working out with Suh?

I thought Tannehill accuracy on his deep ball was improved last year then the year before.....When he actually had time....I think Devante/Landry/Stills were pretty solid for around 30+ yard catches.(Landry pretty rare)

Jenkins needs to step up hopefully he does & Fede the training camp wonder hopefully does something meaningful in his career other then that punt block in his rookie season.

The big knock on Phillips last year was lack of conditioning. This seems like the same issue we had with Paul Soliai for the first 3 years of his career. It wasn't until his 4th year (2010) that he stepping up into a quality starter that enabled us to move Starks back outside to 3-4 DE. Soliai was only a 4th round pick. Phillips needs to turn that corner faster being that he is a 2nd rounder.

I see Earl Mitchell was at the training facility but working hard has never been his issue. He is just limited physically. I don't expect to see much of a jump in his performance in his 7th year.

It's a fair concern IMO, especially since there were questions about this coming in. Will see how camp goes.

I don't care what PFF says...Tannehill's deep ball was improved last year.

Especially when DVP hit the field. It's amazing what a good receiver can do for your deep ball. Mike Wallace was the most awkward running WR who bobbled every pass and was not a hands catcher. Hartline never had the speed or the separation.

Year 1: Davone Bess, Brian Hartline, Jabar Gaffney, Marlon Moore, Rishard Mathews

This looks like I left someone out. (I didn't) How could any team go into the season with this group? Especially with a rookie QB. What a joke!

Year 2: Brian Hartline, Mike Wallace, Ryan Spadola, Rishard Mathews (Brandon Gibson IR)

Year 3: Brian Hartline, Mike Wallace, Jarvis Landry, Brandon Gibson, Rishard Mathews

So they found a slot receiver and buried Mathews on the chart.

Year 4: Jarvis Landry, Kenny Stills, Rishard Mathews, Greg Jennings. Devante Parker, Matt Hazel

1/2 season for about 1/2 of those guys.

Looking at that list, I am amazed that our QB has been able to put up the kind of numbers he has...

Tannehill was dropping it in the bucket frequently with Kenny Stills last season.

It was also nice to not see good ol' "Stonehands" Wallace dropping passes right in his mitts.

Just because he's not working out at that facility doesn't mean he hasn't been working out.

I realize that but given his M.O., I would feel much better if he was being held accountable by his teammates.

I agree. Most college teams had better WR's.....what the hell was our GM doing??

If I had to guess, he probably is working out with other teammates. There are another 60+ players who weren't mentioned there. Working out is always better with friends :) unless nobody on the team likes him :(
