What about Hester? If I remember correctly he tramples everybody in his path. I know we are stacked at RB, but he could compete for FB w/ the Jail-naut and special teams.

he could be a good late round pick up if he's still there, maybe if we get an extra few picks through a JT trade? i haven't heard anything about mauia's future since the incident he had. hester is a beast though, he did run over everyone in the college ranks including my gators. although parcells might want someone bigger at the fullback position.

If we are looking at a FB later on in the draft, I 'd much rather take Owen Schmitt. Dude is a load and had an unbelieveable college career.

I found this quite interesting!

"Schmitt reportedly has a 675 pound squat, a 480 pound hang clean, a 4.57 40 time, a 36 inch vertical, and 11 broken facemasks in his collegiate career." Csonka anyone?

hester is awsome!!!

he is just one of those guys that you want on your team and
seems to always come up with some sort of big play in a game.

tuff guy who loves the game and loves to bash people. and
he can catch pretty good to!! and i believe his running is
UNDERrated.

hester would be a great choice in the later rounds and sure
looks like a parcells kind of guy.

Our line with 6'2" 247 lbs Owen Schmitt and 6'0" 232 lbs Ronnie Brown following behind would be scary.

I don't care who we are playing against, that would be tough to stop.

we don't need a FB...but Schmitt would be nice as a luxary

I love this guy, and think he is another "Wes Welker" type of guy, and if he is there in the 3rd, I grab him. We need more playmakers on offense.

Jacob Hester and Wes Welker are both white. That's where the similarities begin and end. We would be wasting a pick if we took him. He's too small to play FB and we're loaded at RB.

Exactly what I was thinking. Schmitty broke ELEVEN (11) facemasks during games in his collegiate career ... that's how hard he hits people.

Although, I really don't see us spending a pick on FB this year.

I think they have a lot more similarities. They both are gritty workaholics, that may not be the fastest or biggest, but they will give you more effort than a lot of guys.

Its worked out well for Welker, who almost was the Super Bowl MVP, if the Patsies had won.

As an LSU fan. Hesters the freakin man.

But as a dolphins fan, Hesters a hard worker who lacks top flight speed. He's got sure hands ( i think he fumbled twice in college) and never gave up on a run. Hes a good leader and is all heart. Should get drafted late by a team who loves his character.

ROFL. To be honest I saw 8 LSU games this year and he was a major factor in every big game. IMO he was their MVP last year (I wonder who was?). He was their top runner with 225 carries for 1103 yards for a 4.9 YPC average for 12 TD's and a long of 87 yards(which was a TD). In 375 carries over 4 seasons he never had a fumble.

The Gators played them last year and was winning 24-21 in the 4th Qtr. With 9:20 left in the game LSU started driving for the game winning score like they did many times that year. On 1st down he runs for 7 yards. Then LSU gets a penalty and a few plays later he runs for 2 yards on 4th and 1 and a 1st down. In the next few plays he runs for 19 and then 4 yards. At the Gator's 7 yard line he runs again on 4th and 1 for 2 yards and a 1st down. He then runs for 3 yards then 2 yards for the game winning TD.

Everyone in the stadium knew he was going to get the ball and it did not matter.

Against Tennessee he ran 23 times for 120 yards. And he does not run outside, he runs straight ahead. He simply cannot be stopped on short yardage. I wonder if he has set a record for making 4th downs.
